The Floating Lanterns at Tudong Khasathan Lanna
The Yee Peng Sansai Floating Lantern Ceremony is a traditional religious ceremony in homage to the Lord Buddha.
This celebration floats candle lanterns (kom-loy) high into the full moon night sky in dedication to Lord Buddha. This ceremony, which has continued for over two decades,
attracted more than 10,000 Thais and foreign celebrants last year.
The Floating Lanterns -- designated one of the 7 Wonders of Amazing Thailand by the Tourism Authority of Thailand -- will be held on Saturday, October 29th, 2011 from 5pm to 8:30pm
at Tudong Khasathan Lanna, Sansai, in Chiang Mai.
The Duangtawan Santiparp Foundation -- a charity which promotes world peace through inner peace -- promotes this ceremony to encourage foreigners to correctly experience
the uniqueness of Lanna Thai culture and Buddhism correctly.
A Yee Peng Floating Lantern Ceremony exclusively for only 1000 foreigners will be held on Wednesday, November 9th, 2011, from 5 to 8:30 pm at Tudong Khasathan Lanna
under the name of Yee Peng Lanna International All interesting in participating can register to attend at www.yeepenglanna.net.
