The MC Zenitar f2.8/16mm is a full-frame multicoated wide-angle lens with anti-reflection optics. It features a 180 degree visual angle thus enabling the user to register on film all the fore-hemisphere of the object space. This version of the lens comes with Canon EOS mount installed. Rear cap for Canon EOS mount is not included. You can use this lens with all range of Canon EOS cameras. The lens is manual (non-automatic). This means that it can’t obtain lens characteristics from lens electronics, it can’t autofocus and it can’t operate the aperture diaphragm. So to use it you have to enable stop-down metering with EOS camera to focus and adjust the aperture manually. The lens is made from the purest optical glass and features the most advanced vacuum deposited antireflection coatings. The resulting images are crisp and sharp.
This lens is produced by KMZ (Krasnogorsk, Russia) - one of the leading producers among former USSR countries of optical systems for armoured vehicles, aerospace topographic and multizonal cameras and photogrammetric equipment.
Note that this version of the lens comes with Canon EOS mount instead of an ordinary additional M42 to EOS adapter.
