มารายห์ ปฎิเสธที่จะร้องเพลงในงาน WORLD CUP ไป ให้ 4 หนุ่ม Il Divo รับหน้าที่นี้ไปแทน ที่ชีไม่ร้องเพราะบอกว่า เพลงที่จะร้องมันไม่โอ (รึกลัวร้องไม่ไหวกันแน่ เจ๊) และเค้าบอกว่า ชีคงกลัวอีตัว mascot Goleo นั่นด้วยที่มะใส่กางเกง อิอิ
ข่าวดีก็คือ อัลบั้มเพลง WORLD CUP ที่จะออกในเดือน พฤษภานี้ จะมีเพลงของมารายห์อยู่ด้วย (ไม่รู้ว่าเพลงเก่ารึเพลงใหม่ แต่น่าจะเป็นเพลงใหม่) นอกจากนี้ยังมี Celine Dion, Rod Stewart, Whitney Houston, Shakira และอื่นๆอีกมากมาย ติดตามกันต่อไป
MARIAH TO BE FEATURED ON WORLD CUP COMPILATION 2/15/2006
VOCAL quartet Il Divo will perform the World Cups official song, "Time of Our Lives", Fifa announced yesterday.
The international chart toppers, who boast on their website to have brought opera to the masses, will perform the song at the opening ceremony in Munich on 9 June.
The event is expected to attract a worldwide television audience of a billion people.
The song will be available exclusively on Voices, the official album of the World Cup, to be released in May.
The compilation will also feature contributions from Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Rod Stewart, Whitney Houston and Shakira, among others.
The World Cup also has an official anthem, `Celebrate the Day, which will be sung by German performer Herbert Groenemeyer in various languages.

Germany has been infected with soccermania ever since it was announced that we will be where soccer magic happens this summer. Soccer is everywhere and all that is needed to make the soccermania perfect is a hymn for the world championship. It seems Mariah was the first choice for performing that song but declined.
Musikmarkt Online reports that Mariah "did not agree with the proposed song" and that is why "Il Divo" now are performing the title. Another song will be provided by German singer/songwriter Herbert Grönemeyer. We personally think Mariah saw a picture of the slightly scary and pantless mascot Goleo (yes, its supposed to be a lion). And lets face it, Mariah and the lion-bear-thing on one stage? Scary... a picture for you to imagine can be seen to your left.
