San Francisco Chronicle recently interviewed Missy Higgins and this is what she had to say about Mariah:
Q: Maybe if you saw Mariah Carey with four other people?
A: Right. If you admired Mariah Carey.
Q: I heard you did admire Mariah Carey.
A:Did you read that? Im sure I only said that once. I think I definitely did when I was really young because my older sister and brother influenced me a lot. My brother was into Kiss and Queen and all that kind of thing. My sister was into Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. So, yeah, I was into them as much as you could be into something at that age. I wasnt really into music in general when I was young.
Q: Its OK. You can admit you liked Mariah Carey.
A: I just did.
Q: No, really. Go ahead. I was mainly wondering where that came from, since you dont do that seven-octave thing with your voice.
A: Maybe I would if I could.
Q: Have you tried?
A: Yeah, I have.
Q: Did you break any windows?
A: I dont think I could ever do that.
