EXTRA, Access Hollywood and Entertainment Tonight were all backstage Wednesday night at the annual ESPY awards to get the scoop on a possible duet between divas Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson.

With the newly-slimmed down Janet Jackson and music producer- boyfriend Jermaine Dupri breaking news to Extra about teaming up for a superstar duet with Mariah Carey.

Janet: That's a big possibility. We're trying to get it together.
Extra: You know that the music world wants that, don't they?
Jermaine: Oh yeah. Definitely. The two giants of the game [are] definitely coming together.

Access Hollywood
We've got new details of what could be a 'dream duet.'
Access: A little birdie told me you might be doing a duet with Mariah Carey?
Janet: Possibly. There may be truth to that.
Access: Ah, Janet Jackson breaking news to us right here on the red carpet at The Espys.

Yeah, Janet's man, mega-producer Jermaine Dupri told MTV, "It's gonna happen."
Access: Jermaine told us that you're gonna be doing a duet with Janet.
Mariah: Jermaine keeps saying this but Jermaine has got to call me and tell me about it.
Janet: Possibly. You have to stay tuned and see.
Mariah: I love Janet. Janet is wonderful. I'm a fan. I'll totally do it, but he's got to let me know 'cause we got to write the song."

Entertainment Tonight
ET: I'm backstage with Janet and Jermaine. You guys are hanging out in the Crown Royale Lounge, what's going on back there?
Jermaine: Getting drunk. (laughs)
ET: Are you going to do a duet with Mariah or maybe? Maybe?
Janet: Well, we're trying to get it together so we'll see. We'll see.
ET: Maybe a duet with Janet?
Mariah: I don't know what's going on. Jermaine keeps talking about it but he never tells me. I love Janet. I've always been a fan so you know, hopefully, you will see it.
