When asked if she has any tips for young singers, Dionne Warwick, in an interview just before her performance at Live and Loud KL 2007 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia quickly said, "I don't give advice. I give encouragement." However, when it comes to naming young talents whom she listens to, she coolly replied, "Well, my ears can only take Mariah Carey, Usher and Brazilian music."
What about cousin Whitney Houston? "Oh yes, most definitely," she said.
