For me, I believe that not every people has a good voice. So, the best performance should be one that is emotional. Practice hard and try your best. It doesn't matter whether you are a good singer or not, just try deliver a message through the song, and feel it! I myself as an example; I know I'm not a very good singer. But before I sing A Broken Wing by Martina McBride, I closed my eyes and think what'd it feel like to be abused by the one who I love so much and how it feel to believe in yourself, then if you can feel the song, the lyric, and the melody, then you can deliver and express your feeling. I always turn to music whenever I am happy, depressed, or in any crisis, and I think it's a really good way to belt out and sing to release tension in my nerve.
Good luck on your performance!
