Top of the Pops is popping back...
and from next Thursday onwards
it'll be 1976 every week
Top of the Pops is coming back
and its going to be 1976 all over again.
The BBC has decided to re-broadcast
every weekly episode from that year,
starting from next Thursday.
The shows will be run the same week
of the year they were originally shown.
Tony Blackburn, Jimmy Savile
and Dave Lee Travis will be seen hosting
the chart countdown and fans at home,
35 years older and probably no wiser,
will be able to sing along all over again.
And just to get you into the mood,
among the chart-topping acts in 1976 were
Elton John and Kiki Dee with Dont Go Breaking My Heart,
Abbas Dancing Queen and Fernando,
Showaddywaddys Under The Moon of Love
and Demis Roussos with The Roussos Phenomenon.
