Complaints At The F4 Era Ella Taught Me How To Care About Others
He is Baolong. His uncontrollable personality once led to continuous negative news, which made me suffered a lot. The relationship of the other 3 members of F4 and him was described as "sleeping in the same bed but with different dreams". He was also the first one who came out to accuse his benefactor, Angie Chai, of being a 'bloodsucker'. Even in the eyes of media, he was the one who always had a straight face. Now, with over 30 yrs of age, he has become more moderate. He said, although he can't say that he has inclusively or 100% blended into the show business, but at least he has accepted the game rules. He has also admitted to have the first female good friend in the show business, Ella.
Reporter: When F4 first started, there was a lot of discussion about the relationship among F4. Is your relationship really like what was described, "sleeping in the same bed but with different dreams"?
YCX: The show business is really complicated. If one says something wrong by accident, such as standing at a different location, it will easily lead to others' criticism. Actually our relationship is good, and it's not like what the outsiders claimed that so and so are closer, and so and so are more distant.
Reporter: But it seems like you had a lot of complaints during the F4 era, hadn't you?
YCX: It's true that there were complaints, but the main reason was that my personality is very straight forward, and I actually understand the 'image' set by the media for us. Once you have become an idol, naturally you are required to reach certain standards, so that you can set a model for others. You need to know how to handle different matters. You need to be humble and polite, and so on, but I was young at that time that there were times when I got impulsive, then I couldn't think it through.
Reporter: After going solo, have you unintentionally competed with the other 3 members of F4? Do you still keep contact with them?
YCX: No, I haven't, as each one of us is unique in different areas, and each of our career developments is different. There is really nothing to compete about. Like me, may be I am not that smart, so I can't work on different projects, such as releasing album, acting, having concerts, etc..., at the same time. I can only seriously focus on one thing at a time. 'Running one brain on different tracks' is not working for me. Regarding keeping contact, we will when we have time. Actually, other members have pretty good development so far.
Reporter: Can you 100% blend into the show business now?
YCX: There is some room, but I have kept trying, as I know that it's my career. Once I was very afraid of human contact in the show business, feeling it's too complicated, as any unintentional/small factor can be as attacking point. It's not like dealing with animals, as long as I treat them well, they will return the kindness. Luckily, my ability to adjust has improved a lot. I won't force on anything unrealistic and I will remember to know the game rules.
Reporter: Heard that your best friend in the show business is Ella?
YCX: We are really good friends. I have even massaged her feet. Ella has taught me a lot of things. If I haven't been familiar with her, I won't become this lively. Sometimes I even think, hmm, may be I can be a comedian. She has helped me grow up a lot.
Reporter: What is Ella's big effect on you?
YCX: She has changed me a lot. She let me realize that actually there were things/places that I didn't do well enough in the past. She has made me more optimistic. She has also taught me how to care for others.
Love Relationship With Unchangeable Ending Is Tragedy
In 9314 Man And Boy, the book recording his growing up, he described one love relationship he had as tragedy. The involuntary sadness he expressed was very touchable. When everyone believes that the 'princess' was LZL, he just smiled shyly and said calmly to wish this good friend to have a lucky future. Regarding the upcoming love relationship in the future, he doesn't force on or avoid it. He even said that meeting a girl whom he can communicate with in a blind date is not a bad thing.
Reporter: For the late love relationship you mentioned in 9314 Man And Boy, why did you describe it as tragedy?
YCX: As I couldn't control it's ending due to too much outside pressure to affect this relationship. The helpless feeling itself is a pain.
Reporter: What kind of woman is LZL?
YCX: She's a very good woman with good personality and heart. That's why I wish her to have a smooth life.
Reporter: Do you still keep any contact?
YCX: It's natural for friends to keep contact. When I published my book, she wished me luck. For the same, when she has new project, I will wish her luck as well.
Reporter: In a love relationship, do you have the same problem of not being able to express yourself effectively?
YCX: I really don't know how to say sweet words and it may relate to my personality. When I was at school, I secretly admired a girl, and I wished I could see her everyday, but I just didn't have the courage to tell her anything. Even later, when I knew that she also had feelings for me, I still couldn't dare to say anything. However, I quite enjoyed the feeling of secretly admiring someone, with no beginning or ending of a love relationship. The feeling was really sweet.
Reporter: What do you think is the most romantic moment in love relationship?
YCX: I still remember that I used to take my girlfriend out on a bike. I even sang to her as I rode the bike, but as I rode it for too long, I couldn't straighten my legs the next day.
Reporter: When dealing with love relationship, have you done something impulsive?
YCX: Yes, I once wanted to keep a relationship with marriage, and you can imagine the result. It's something that I can't imagine it will happen today.
Reporter: When compared to before, any changes in your feeling for love?
YCX: No, I still like women who can understand and appreciate me, but the most important, is being able to talk about different things, and I don't have much expectation on anything else.
Reporter: Are you trying very hard to look for love now?
YCX: I tend to believe in fate. When it's time, love will arrive. To me, marriage is you meet the right person, at the right time, with the right urge. It may not happen when any one factor is missing
Reporter: Will you accept a girl specially chosen by others?
YCX: Do you mean an arranged date (kkla: more serious than blind date) by others? If someone is willing to arrange for me, I will try. If it happens that I can meet someone whom I can talk to, isn't it great? But I may need to specify, is an arranged date, not an autograph session. Haha...
