Kangsom used to work as a singing teacher.
Year after year, the popular TV talent show The Star launches the careers of singers and entertainers like Bie Sukrit, Tono Pakin and Gun Napat. In the latest season, more than 20,000 hopefuls applied to compete with one another in more than five rounds of the competition.
The recent contest heated up when the three guys in the semi-final round — Jaruwat Cheawaram (Dome), 20, Tanatat Chaiyaat (Kangsom), 20 and Isariya Patharamanop (Hunz), 20 — battled it out in front of countless viewers. In the end, Dome emerged as the winner, while Kangsom and Hunz came second and third respectively.
All three performers soon released singles tailored to their individual styles. Dome recorded the ballad “Kam Atitan Duay Namta (A Prayer with Tears),” while Kangsom came out with the R&B track “Rak Thoe Yeep Sip See Chua Mong (Love You 24 Hours).” Pro dancer Hunz released a dance track complete with powerful choreography called “Bid (Twist).”
Student Weekly recently met up with the three rising stars at the GMM building to chat about their backgrounds and their new singles.
