Kaews mom leads the way

Mother knows best is an expression that could have been made for Sumol Sirimongkolsakul (Mol), mother of 20-year-old pop idol Jarinya Sirimongkolsakul (Kaew). Kaew is famous as one third of the girl group Faye Fang Kaew.
Kaews 51-year-old mom was the one who decided that her pretty daughter should sign a contract with Kamikaze five years ago.
At first, we were worried that the talent scout might have been lying, but after we went to the RS office, they offered a contract right away and promised that Kaew could release an album, Mol said.
Kaew was lucky to have at least one of her parents on her side when she signed up for a showbiz career.
Her dad wanted her to focus on study, so we had to make the deal behind his back, Mol said. I thought it was worth a try.
SLOW START
Kaew didnt really enjoy her time training at the label, since it meant she wasnt able to hang out with her friends. Luckily, her mom always encouraged her not to give up.
I was very young, so I wasnt happy spending all my time after school practising, Kaew said. But mom told me to give it a try and eventually I fell in love with singing and performing.
GOOD GUIDE
During Kaews five years in showbiz, her mom has always driven her to both school and work so that she can take care of her daughter. Mol also looks out for daughters diet, making sure that she eats healthy, balanced meals.
Kaew only likes to eat meat, so I prepare fruit snacks and try to make her eat them when were driving somewhere, Mol said. Kaew also works so hard that sometimes she doesnt have time to rest, so I let her take a nap in the car and tell her to get as much sleep as she can.
PRIZE PRIDE
Kaew recently made her mom proud when she received the grateful daughter award from the National Council on Social Welfare of Thailand.
I felt so proud, Mol said. The staff at the label saw that Kaew is obedient and nominated her for the award.
The young singer was also extremely happy to win the award.
I felt flattered to receive such a great award, Kaew said. Id like to thank the committee who gave me the award for also giving me great encouragement.
CELEBRITY COUPLE
Last year, Kaew made tabloid headlines when she started dating 34-year-old drama star Pong Nawat. Fortunately, Mol isnt an overprotective mother and she was able to deal with the news calmly.
I let Kaew make her own decisions when it comes to dating, Mol said. If she likes him, Ill let them date.
BUSINESS BASICS
Kaew said that her parents want her to have a more secure job in the future, since showbiz careers can be very up and down.
Im studying marketing at the moment so that I can gain some basic knowledge about business, Kaew said. Ill study for a masters degree in the future when I decide what subject I want to focus on.
MOTHERS DAY MESSAGE
When asked if they had anything special to say to each other for Mothers Day, Mol asked Kaew to maintain her nice personality, since many young people look up to her as a role model. For her part, Kaew asked her mother to take care of herself.
I want mom to look after her health and try to have plenty of rest because she suffers from insomnia, Kaew said. Id also like to thank mom for never giving up on me and for always taking great care of me.

แรกเริ่มของการเป็นศิลปินฝึกหัด แก้วดูจะไม่สนุกกับการเทรนด์ เพราะเธอจะไม่ได้ไปเที่ยวกับเพื่อนๆเหมือนวัยรุ่นคนอื่น แต่แม่ของเธอคอยให้กำลังใจและให้สู้ต่อไป
ตอนนั้นยังเด็กมาก จึงรู้สึกไม่ชอบเลยที่หลังเลิกเรียนจะต้องมาฝึกซ้อม แทนที่จะได้ไปเที่ยวกับเพื่อนๆ แต่แม่บอกเสมอว่าให้พยายามและลองทำดู จนในที่สุดเราก็ชอบและรักในการร้องเพลง แก้วกล่าว

ตลอดเวลา 5 ปีในวงการ แม่ของเธอเป็นคนดูแลรถรับส่งแก้วทั้งไปเรียนและไปทำงาน รวมถึงดูแลเรื่องอาหารการกิน สุขภาพของเธอ
แม่มลเล่าว่า แก้วชอบกินแต่พวกเนื้อสัตว์ เพราะฉะนั้นเราก็ต้องคอยเตรียมผลไม้ให้แก้วทานระหว่างที่อยู่บนรถ แก้วทำงานหนัก บางครั้งไม่มีเวลาพักผ่อน ก็จะคอยบอกเค้าให้งีบหลับในรถ ให้นอนให้มากที่สุดเท่าที่จะมากได้

เมื่อเร็วๆนี้ แก้วได้สร้างความภาคภูมิใจให้กับแม่ของเธอ เมื่อเธอได้รับ รางวัลลูกกตัญญู จากสภาสังคมสงเคราะห์
