"Ken has never experienced love typhoon"
Being an idol, it is already very difficult for Ken to maintain a love relationship; not to mention having a chance of falling head over heel in love.
In Love Storm, Ken plays a role of Wan Bao Long who is secretly in love with Zhao Jia Le (Vivian Hsu), the girl he grew up with. However, he has problem in declaring his love for her, thus he can only look helplessly at her when she pursues the love of her life, Lu Ying Feng (Zaizai).
Ken revealed his own personal perspective towards love in an interview with the reporter from LianHeBao.
Never professed my love, she is forever my friend.
Reporter: Xiao Tian, have you ever been head over heel in love?
Ken: Head over heel in love? Nope! I once secretly like a girl for about 4 years. When I was in Secondary 1 in Singapore, I fell in love with a girl. She is tall and slim, about 1.7m. We remained friends for 4 years. We often talked on the phone, I did not have the courage to profess my love for her. Not until I went to Taiwan, I decided to call her up one day and asked her whether she has ever liked me. She did not answer my question and kept laughing it off, so in the end I did not tell her about how I felt about her. We still keep in touch till now, but being in the entertainment industry, I'm very busy, and time passes quickly. She will remain my friend.
A guy actually profess his love for me
Reporter: Ken, do you agree with people falling madly in love?
Ken: No! I feel that when a person really desperately wants something, he/she will turn obstinate.
When I just returned to Taiwan, a male friend actually liked me. At the time I was only 19 years old, and he was my colleague. We always helped each other out, but it never crossed my mind that in the middle of night, he turned up at my doorstep, wearing a skirt! He was actually looking at me as his possible partner. I told him that I'm not gay, and that I helped him out because I like helping people out. He cried.
Leave love to fate
Reporter: Ken, how do you balance love and work?
Ken: It's very strange, there seems to be a pattern when it comes down to love. When you love a person, it seems you are binded by that person, and vice versa, when a person loves you, you will be binded to that person as well.
Love, the more you love, the greater the hurt. Just like "BaoLong" - Ken's character in Love Storm being hurt by his love for "JiaLe".
Honestly, I like it when 2 people can get along quietly and peacefully; unlike the love relationships which involves so many bickering and the dramatic type where they'd go and commit suicide to prove their love for each other. Those type of love are very exhausting.
I'm not in a relationship at the moment and it has been some time since I last fell in love. I do feel lonely, but I use my spare time to learn other things such aa playing guitar, basketball, diving, riding motorbikes. Life can be fulfilling!
If I have the time, I'd love to study overseas, however, I still treasure F4 because F4 is the pride of Taiwan. I feel that I am not steady yet when it comes to acting. I need to improve myself and as for love, I think I will leave it to fate.
Reporter: If one day you want to get yourself a girlfriend, what type of a girlfriend would you wish for?
Ken: I'm hoping she will be an adorable girl with a mind of her own.
I am not very good at socializing, because I'm not very good remembering names. There are plenty of beautiful girls in the entertainment industry, however, it is very difficult to get yourself a girlfriend. I am still not able to find a girl who understand me. As human, we do not only need to know how to communicate, it is also important for our partner to be able to accurately express their understanding of us. Difficuly isn't it?
Do you all love me or do you want me to die?
Reporter: Zaizai is "madly loved" by his fans. Are your fans equally devoted?
Ken: Not only devoted, fans can be quite ruthless at times. There was once when I was in Singapore, obviously I was already off duty, however, the fans were so persistent, chasing after my car and bumping into the car few times. I was so angry, I got out of the car and actually asked them whether they love me or they want me to die. The next day, I went on stage and apologized for losing control, but I really want fans to understand that I'm also human. I do eat, I do go to the toilet, just like the rest of them do.
Being in the entertainment industry, I fully understand that the fame and attentions an idol get from their fans. I actually thought of quitting at one stage, however, I thought it through and decided to stick to it.
Reporter: Why don't you go online and explain to your fans?
Ken: I did! It was no use though. Honestly speaking, I think that the youngsters nowadays lead a good life, however, spritually, they are not there. I came from a single parent family. My parents were divorced when I was young, and I followed my mom to Singapore. At one stage when we were very poor, I got through without having food for 3 days 3 nights. I was very hungry, but I dare not tell anyone about it.
My earning is not bad now, but I do not spend my money on food. Instead, I prefer to spend money on CDs. I have about 20,000-30,000 CDs at home because I feel that good music can enrich my spiritual mind, and that is more important than filling up my stomach.
Reporter: Ken, how do you evaluate your own career?
Ken: I'd say, being in the entertainment line, the fame that I received and what I have contributed are not balanced. I do feel guilty about that, so I'm trying very hard to harness more experiences and continuously improving myself. I have been watching movies starring China actor, GeYou. I do hope in future, I can achieve equally good if not better performances.
