The special additional music video for the title track of Dhoom starring international singing sensation Tata Young was picturized recently in a specially designed set in Mumbai. The sexy, naughty (though not bitchy) Tata Young clad in a two-piece golden outfit danced off to the English version of Dhoom Machade Dhoom sung by herself amidst racing bikes.
The song was picturized under the supervision of Arjun Sablok who earlier directed the Hrithik-Esha-Saif starrer Na Tum Jaano Na Hum. Says Sablok, It's a music video derived from the title song of the original film soundtrack. We have not gone for a Hindi to English translation for the track. The song has been designed as an international song. I have attempted to recreate the atmosphere and bring in some elements of Dhoom that reminds you of the original film. However I am not revealing the plot of Dhoom in the video.
Yash Raj Films had attempted a similar music video for their last production Hum Tum starring Rishi Rich, which helped their music sales considerably (esp. in the overseas territory where they released the music under their own label). So they wanted to repeat that for Dhoom too. And one night, while Aditya Chopra was watching MTV he heard the voice of Tata Young in a song. And he felt the voice was the perfect choice for the music video of Dhoom. So the company approached Young and when they showed the movie trailer to the popstar, her instant reaction on the three male leads of the film was 'they are hot'. That's when Sablok decided the video would be about Tata's fantasies. And I have translated those exciting fantasies of Tata into video, says the director.
