Seeing Jerry carrying his smile and talking about his problems, many a times, i could not bear to stop him from talking about it, in this way, there wasn't much a chance for him to speak. I recorded the interview genuinely, so as to potray his real opinions to everyone genuinely, although there was a limit, this was still not the end of our conversation. I just find that, with a boy who has the heart of only to work harder, a boy who wants to work hard so as to not let others think of him only by his appearence, there's no reason not to give him any support. Besides, he's a superidol that could affect so many young people.
Lastly, the main message which he wants to give out from this interview was, he hopes to work with a good china director, he doesn't ask for any roles, what he wants is the chance to learn.
His problems of stepping into this entertainment circle -
Reporter : I heard that when you're facing the media, you're feel nervous, is it true ?
Jerry : When it's a group of media, that's because i'm not used to such big scenes, that's my character.
Reporter : I've seen u at such scenes, you'll become very tensed.
Jerry : Yes, because i don't know what to say. I'm actually quite relaxed privately down. During the F4 times, there's still the other 3 blocking me and i'll just stand around and act cool and forget it. But now, i have to face so many alone, i'm not very used to it. But, it's alright now, i feel that most of the media are actually quite friendly, it isn't like when the 4 of us first came out, maybe those media were quite sensitive at that time, thus i became a role of self-protect. I didn't know what to talk to them about, that's because sometimes when i start talking too much, people would write anyhow.Thus, i chose to be quiet, especially when i first came into the circle as i had not enough experience, and i was a newbie, many things happened. I used to grow up in a very innocent environment, i just love to play basketball, and i don't have much society experience, i didn't know the complications in this circle. Thus, i got to know many punishments when i first came in, as i didn't know there were so many rules between humans, i didn't think that much, at that time, so many things happened, making myself feel i'm so ignorant, maybe because i was still young and inexperience. Thus, after that when i got the chance to flim a movie with Andy Lau and Sammi Cheng, i realised in this circle, you have to always be very mature. I don't know if u understand my words.
Reporter : Of course i do, just like how we Beijing people say , Yao Hui Lai Shi Er.
Jerry : I was actually a big boy. IN fact, when i flim Meteor Garden , i really felt my character was like Dao Ming Si. Daomingsi is liked by everyone when put on screens, but puting him in life, in the eyes of reporters, he's ignorant, and adding a little childish and it's also stuborness. However, at that time, i didn't know i had to be polite and kind to everyone in this circle. To us, many were adults, and we'll just nod our heads after seeing everyone. However, we didn't expect to find that it's not enough, it should make people feel more warmth, this way there won't be misunderstandings or invite rumours.
Reporter : In other words, its to say, you didn't have enough time to prepare and you've got popular.
Jerry : There was no preparation .(laughs) As it was really very fun when fliming the show at that time, really didn't think that much. And we didn't think that it'll give us the power to be so popular, as to say, the pressure behind was also huge as u get so many people's attention in such a short time. You think of it, none of the 4 of us had any trainings, we didn't had anything, when we knew nothing, we were pushed to the stage. With my character, i find that it doesn't suit me. From my environment i grew up in...from young i was the class monitor. I always find that everything needs preparation. Only do things after preparation, and not to other's benefit. Or whether is it under other's request to be pushed out...how do i describe ? I have to be tactful when talking now, or i might get scolded again by people (laughs)
Reporter : At least i won't write anyhow.
Jerry : That's blocking people's wealth path, that's because or the person's heart. Some things which you know its bad, you are unwilling to do it. But, under such a environment, people want to earn money, thus if you don't do it, you'll be offending some high rank people. You offend them accidently, they would use all kinds of methods to pull you down or they'll make u very ugly. After that, i found that i needed practice in this circle. Cause other than practising, i can't think of any other ways.
I feel myself getting older within these 2 years.
