JERRY YAN WITH BENCH IN BALI

What happens when you put one of the biggest Asian popstars in one of the most beautiful Asian spots wearing one of the top Asian brands?
You get Jerry Yan in Bali, Indonesia, wearing Bench. In a wonderful cross-cutting of Asia's best, Jerry Yan was recently flown to the enchanting island of Bali to model the latest collection of Bench clothing. The subject, the setting and the summerwear couldn't have been better.
The concept: lush, natural, sexy. Certainly, it was a different angle of Jerry Yan that
Bench wanted to depict this time. The three-day shoot brought out another side of Jerry rarely seen in his previous photographs: languid, mysterious and oh-so-sexual, no doubt influenced by the island's charms and offset by trendy Bench clothing.
"We're sure Jerry Yan fans and Bench fans too will go wild over this shoot," says a top Bench executive. "It's classic Bench--simple, straightforward, but with a lot of sex appeal--but Jerry and Bali give the images a different texture. Maybe it was the Bali sunlight, maybe it's Jerry's maturity, but the Bench clothes somehow have a more subtle effect, and the impact is just breathtaking."
Shot by a top Beijing photographer, Jerry is captured by the lens in various positions of tropical nirvana. He luxuriates in a virgin forest. He lounges by the pool. He immerses himself in a brook. He even gamely poses with props like an apple, a watermelon and a coconut!
Sure, we've all seen him as the Taiwanese matinee idol who achieved superstardom as member of boy band F4, stars of the meteoric soap series, Meteor Garden. His arrival in Manila in 2003 as Bench's superstar endorser caused such a frenzy that he found himself doing a courtesy call at Malacanang Palace and all over the front pages the next day.
We've also come to know him as a movie star in the Hong Kong comedy Magic Kitchen, where he played a romantic cook's assistant. We've also heard him as a solo recording artist in his own right, churning out chart-topper after chart-topper since the release of his CD, "Jerry for You." And we've grown accustomed to his face and body plastered around billboards and Bench boutiques all around the country.
But this time, Bench and Jerry in Bali is a step forward for both the brand and the man, as well as Bench widens its expansion around Asia and Jerry entrenches his hold as the region's most in-demand endorser. Bench is opening several more stores in China this year, and has a growing number of franchises there as well. Jerry remains highly visible in his music videos, among the most requested in China and Southeast Asia, and is being groomed, they say, for another movie.
So almost two years since Bench and Jerry first got together, this incredible tandem has matured along with the successes of both the brand and the man. So now we see Jerry, a tad more sophisticated, wearing Bench with a little more spice and sexiness, in romantic images that will be seen around the world.
With Bench an Jerry put together like this in Bali, the next question is: Which of Asia's best will be joining the team next time?
