ว่าจะไม่แล้วนะ เพราะหลังจากเสนอกระทู้แม่มาลัยไปแล้วมีปฏิกริยาฮาๆออกมาให้เห็นเรื่อยๆ แต่เห็นข่าวนี้แล้วอดไม่ได้ เข้าเรื่องนี้กว่า ข่าวนี้มาจากแหล่งข่าววงในผู้จัดงาน Gay Pride ใน New York ครับ งานนี้ถือเป็นงานใหญ่ยักษ์ของชาวเกย์ที่นั่น มี event ที่เป็นโชว์จากศิลปินดังๆ มาร้องเพลงเพื่อหาเงินเข้าการกุศล ช่วยเหลือองค์กรของชาวเกย์นี่แหละ ดีว่าอย่าง janet,whitney,j.lo ต่างเคยมาโชว์บนเวทีนี้กันแล้ว ปีนี้ผู้จัดเฟ้นหานักร้องระดับดีว่ามาร่วมงาน ข่าวว่า shakira กับ thalia อาสามาร่วมงาน แต่ทางผู้จัดเล็งแม่มาลัยเอาไว้ เพราะเห็นเธอมีฐานแฟนเกย์ และกำลังเป็นที่ฮือฮากับอัลบัมใหม่ ก็เลยติดต่อไป แต่ต้องหงายเก๋ง เหมือนคุณเธอเรียกร้องเงินมาจำนวน 1 แสนเหรียญ เงินก้อนนี้ไม่ใช่ค่าตัวนะครับ เพราะงานนี้เป็นงานการกุศล แต่แม่มาลัยบอกว่าเป็นค่าใช้จ่ายในการทำโชว์ของเธอให้ออกมาอลังการณ์ มีแดนซง แดนเซอร์ เอ็ฟเฟ็กส์ แสงสี อะไรทำนองนั้น ส่วนค่าตัวเธอไม่เอา  งานนี้ผู้จัดก็เลยต้องใส่เกียร์ถอยหลัง สู้ราคาค่าพล็อพเธอไม่ไหวครับ  

It's that time of the year again, just two weeks before the gay pride festivities, and the divas are lining up for a spot on the party roasters.

Last year we got an out-of-breath Janet, a few years ago we got an in-between-rehab-sessions Whitney and in 2001 J-Lo did her thing with a 5 song set. So this year the promoters have been inundated with offers from "divas' of all sorts who want to perform at the Pier Dance or during the rest of the parties.

Shakira and Thalia were the first to "volunteer" their services  but all discussion with their reps reached a screeching halt once word got out that a certain diva who is currently enjoying perhaps the biggest diva comebacks in music history, was interested in performing in front of "her gay fans". So Mariah moved to the top of the list and is now tentatively scheduled to be the Pier dance performer, but........

.......she has :-) to be confirmed due to her demands, something the promoters are not willing to go along with. Since the Pier Dance is a benefit, all performers are expected to perform for free (of course they get publicity worth millions with TV reports, 6,000 screaming queens watching them and hundreds of media mentions). Ms Carey is willing to perform for free, but she demands a 0,000 fee for her performance's "special effects".  To quote one of the promoters of the event "unless she plans to have fireworks coming out of her ass, it ain't worth it".

So for now everything is on hold until she decides whether her newly restored ego can let go of the "diva" demands and become the next star to appear in one of these events, following the lead of Madonna, Cher, Christina Aguilera, Whitney, Britney, J-lo Janet, etc.

As for Saturday's party at Spirit, with Mr Rauhofer spinning, the ads that will be released next week will have a big logo with "Performance by M". Bet that will get a few people excited .............

Is it Madonna or Mariah?..........Well, Mr Rauhofer was trying not to say anything, but after some "convincing"  , he admitted it sure ain't the first M (even though she had told him she is ready for another gay club appearance soon - most likely right after labour day at Peter's new club, Spirit - the old Twilo/Sound Factory legendary space).

So it might be Mariah (if the Pier dance thing falls through), but if she backs out Mr Rauhofer made sure another performer will be at hand JIC, so all lucky partygoes will get a performance by that other famous M..................Mya (Talk about a letdown).
