Undressed!
Baby Steps: It's all too easy to tease the trashtastic twosome that is Britney Spears and Kevin Federline, especially as they step out in New York in their big city finest. But we've decided to cut the new parents a little bit of slack and instead focus on the positive. Like grooming, for instance. Usually, we'd make some snide remark about how the Britster is just a bone in her hair away from achieving the full Pebbles Flintstone effect, or that K. Fed's wormlike, circulation-cutting cornrows would make Bo Derek point and giggle. These days, however, we're just happy the down-market duo took the time to run a comb through their usually mussed manes. They've even made an effort with their ensembles. Sure, we could point out that Kevin's ill-fitting blazer appears to have a copious amount of Sean Preston's spit-up on it, and that Britney's swirling jacket is less Technicolor dreamcoat than nausea-inducing nightmare. But at least the semi-retired pop princess is keeping her overflowing and often out-of-control décolletage under wraps, and her underemployed hubby is wearing pants that extend below his knees and above his butt crack. He's even styling a shirt with actual sleeves, and while his sneakers redefine ugly, at least he's nixed his standard socks-and-sandals combo. On top of all this, there's nary a Red Bull nor a trace of nicotine to be seen, and clean-shaven Kevin appears to have located his long-missing razor. So kudos, Britney and Kevin. You may not have cleaned up well, but at least you cleaned up.
