trouble is... there're still many questions about the program and also about the cute chap, kim hyun joong.
i will answer some questions about the WMG program format first.
1. the couples are paired together by the PD/s of the show; and no, in many cases, they do not know who they're paired with when they're approached to the show.
2. the couples meet once a week for filming; in the ssangchu couple's case, they met every tuesday. i've absolutely no idea what days the other couples meet, since i'm only interested in joongbo.
3. the PD/s have rather strict rules... the participants must not be in relationship or seeing anyone when they're with the program.
4. hyun joong was supposedly invited to be on the show one season before, but his schedule was too tight, so his joining was delayed. (it's fate! it's fate! hwang bu-in was just supposed to be his match!)
5. alot of you wonder if the show is scripted. well, the official answer is that it's about 20% scripted. actually it's not so much that it's scripted, it's more like the couples are given a scenario to play out. all the lines, all the things they do are strictly their own doing.
6. long-time fans of hyun joong swear that it's 99.9% him in the show. his behaviour on the show was exactly like how he behaves in public. (and if you've seen him in other variety programs and also his pre-BoF attempts at acting, you would know that this guy is NOT born with acting skills. whatever improvements he's shown in BoF of late is pure hard work.)
7. he also hates to be forced into skinship with females. he will resist or somehow get around it. but with hwang bu-in, he seems to not mind the skinship.
i had initially thought hwang bu-in appeared to be the dominant party in the relationship. but if you look more closely, you will see that she's got this protective thingy happening around her, and she didn't allow herself or him to get close. towards the end, he was the one initiating more touchy-feely deeds than she!
remember their 'real' farewell? he seemed to want to reach out to her, even appeared to want to lie on her lap, but she resisted. haha, she even climbed onto the top of the sofa, for god's sake!
8. heard that the show's abit more different now... more scripted? not sure, i don't watch it after epi 38, yea, after joongbo left.
9. understand that when filming at 'home', the cameraman will try to stay as out of the way as possible, so as to create an 'illusion' for the couple that they're alone... of course, when they're outside filming, then it cannot happen la. the lighting, the boom mike...
10. not exactly a WGM program question... just something i personally wanted to add. yea, i've at times entertained myself with thoughts of 'what if wuri yong joon's cast in this one... what would he be like...?' hee...
