มาแล้วคร่า Translation/summary of Parts 1-2 of SeoHwa Episode 5:
PART 1 -He asks the statue if it is Seo-hyun: "Are you reading a book?" XD
-The drink Yong-hwa was laughing about is omija (probably made from its berries) latte. There's omija tea, but omija latte is definitely not at all common. In English, the plant is known as Schisandra chinensis.
-Seo-hyun proposes that they order each other's drinks. Yong-hwa orders omija latte because she likes omija, and Seo-hyun orders jujube latte (using the fruit of jujube trees). Yong-hwa responds: "That's not a good choice because I love jujube so much." Yong-hwa protests but eventually gives in her choice of the drink for him. (LOL, Yong-hwa, from now on, you have no choice! *pats head*)
-Park Mi-seon compliments Yong-hwa for getting water for her without being prompted to do so.
-Seo-hyun said at first she felt pressured when they found out they had a house, but later, her heart felt fluterry because it was the kind of house she always wanted.
Yong-hwa: "I was really happy. If you have a choice, you can eat fruits together, eat meals together. Rather than going out to eat, you're cooking yourself." (YONG-HWA, YOU KILL ME WHEN YOU SAY THINGS LIKE THAT IN THAT MANNER: "No sugarcoating, no fancy words, no hesitation, no embarrassment" [NOTE: *miKi, I'm going to be quoting this phrase of yours often] -- you say these things honestly without making a big deal out of things. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE.)
-Seo-hyun likes the jujube latte (ROFL), whereas Yong-hwa understandably does not. She makes him the whole thing because she says it'll keep his strength up. Yong-hwa says that while he thanks her warm heart, he thought it was unnecessary, unmerited to force him to drink it even after he tried it out and didn't like it. He thinks that Seo-hyun will the like the taste of anything that's good for one's health. XD
But gentle Yong-hwa doesn't show this (aside from the spontaneous initial reaction) during the date, spiritedly resigning himself to drink the whole thing during the drinking competition: "Should I show you my strength?"
Seo-hyun tries to get out finishing her drink by saying that it doesn't matter now that he's won the competition. AHAHAHA, the competition was just a ploy so that he could finish his drink and she wouldn't have to finish her own (both considerate AND self-serving, LMAO)... I guess this shows that she feels comfortable with him.
-Seo-hyun's message on the couple paper: Yong-hwa Seo-hyun They made good memories at Insadong, and jujube latte - a choice for one's strength.
Yong-hwa's message: Jung Yong-hwa Seo-hyun Yong~ Hyun~ their newlywed house has appeared. Let's try to live there as best as we can. Fighting!
PART 2 -After hearing her dream house fantasy, Yong-hwa asks if she wants to be a princess. Seo-hyun answers: "Hmmm... that's probably it."
-LOL, Park Mi-seon really wants them to hold hands because she keeps on hinting on it: "They could've held hands," as an alternative to holding the rail of the seat in front of them. Yong-hwa playfully pokes fun at her feeling anxious on the bus by pretending that the bus is swerving them left to right and visa versa. But she doesn't get the joke.
-Awww, Yong-hwa's mom's ringtone is her son's Korean debut song.
-When Yong-hwa turns over the phone to Seo-hyun, he says, "I'll hand [the phone] over to [my] wife."
-Yong-hwa's mom: "Omo, hello, Seo-hyun-shi, I'm a fan." Seo-hyun: "Thank you." [Yong-hwa looks away, embarrassed but laughing away.] Yong-hwa: "I'm so happy that our Yong-hwa met such a kind and pretty girl." Seo-hyun (embarrassed): "Ah...thank you." Yong-hwa: "Mom, you know how we're going to the house." Yong-hwa's mom: "Yeah?" Yong-hwa: "What should we check out first?" Yong-hwa's mom: "What should you check out first? Well, check if the toilet will flush, if the boiler is running well, if the electricity will work." [Seo-hyun mentally remembers each thing by counting off her fingers and thinking to herself, Yong-hwa nods along.] Yong-hwa's mom: "This makes me feel weird~" Yong-hwa (laughing): "You get a strange feeling? Why?" Yong-hwa's mom: "Since you're going to the newlywed's home. And you know how [they say] Kyeongsangdo men [NOTE: sorry, it's hard to hear what she's saying because of the audio quality, but it probably has something to do with the negative stereotype of Kyeongsangdo people. ]. Talk often, take care of her a lot..." [caption pointing to Seo-hyun's face: 'Grateful that he's taking care of her'] Yong-hwa's mom: "...listen to her a lot... You have to live happily, okay?" [Yong-hwa laughs.] Yong-hwa (Busan satoori): "Please switch over to a burning phone." [NOTE: I don't know for sure what the slang means, but I think it's a phrase like 'Let's hang up' or something like that.] Yong-hwa's mom: "What?" Yong-hwa mutters something in Busan satoori. Yong-hwa's mom: "Oh, okay."
After hanging up: Seo-hyun: "Your mother is so gentle and sweet." Yong-hwa (happy): "Really?" [NOTE: Ahh, he's so happy that Seo-hyun likes his mother~] Seo-hyun: "Yes, she seems very cheery and bright." Seo-hyun writes down the things Yong-hwa's mom told them to check first.
-Seo-hyun: "Then I will call my mom too." Seo-hyun: "Mom~" Yong-hwa: "Hello." Seo-hyun: "Mom, I can't see your face." Seo-hyun: "Mom, right now we're going to our newlywed house." Seo-hyun's mom: "Oh, really?" Seo-hyun: "But what are the things we need to examine?" [NOTE: the laugh track is on because Seo-hyun is using a more sophisticated word for 'to check.'] Seo-hyun's mom: "Oh, you're going to the house...?" Seo-hyun: "Yes." Seo-hyun's mom: "For oppa's sake, Ju-hyun, you're going to cook, right?" Seo-hyun: "Yes." Seo-hyun's mom: "Check if the kitchen water is coming out...and it's better if it has been prettily decorated." Seo-hyun: "Yes~ thank you." Yong-hwa: "Thank you." Seo-hyun: "But mom! Your face looks weird." Yong-hwa (respectfully): "You're pretty, a beauty." [It looks like WGM producers cut the rest out... ] Seo-hyun: "Anyway...I understand. Thank you." Yong-hwa: "Thank you, we'll call again." Seo-hyun: "Mom, hang up first." [belatedly forgot to introduce her husband] "Oh, right! Mom, this is my husband--" [AHAHAHA, but it's too late because Seo-hyun's mom already hung up in the middle of his greeting.] Yong-hwa (looking amusedly at Seo-hyun giggling madly): "You're really enjoying this..." Seo-hyun (looking guilty): "No, I'm not, really..." [Yong-hwa laughs.] Seo-hyun: "Next time, there probably will be an opportunity to meet."
-LOL, Yong-hwa says he knows the directions, but they get lost. He then admits it has been a long time since he has been to Sangdo-dong. Eventually, they ask for directions.
ETA: I forgot to give a short background on why Yong-hwa and Seo-hyun asked what they should check out first. In Korea, homes or apartments aren't required to be cleaned up or made sure everything is in working order when it's sold or in the process of being sold off. It's not so much of a requirement (like it is in the U.S.), but a choice.
