Q :50 days has been passed after the dispute of selling all JTune stocks. Why have you preferred to remain silent?
Rain: People were unwilling to believe me even if I said these words at that time.
Q: What do you react the comment? Some people think you are going too far because you took more than 15 billion won from the contract three years ago.
Rain: The shareholders offered me 15 billion won.. They basically considered me as a product. At that time, I just successfully completed World Tour, morever I was going to enter Hollywood, Many companies engaged me into their projects. It is generally believed that the success of merchandise into Hollywood, the value of product will increase.
Q: Per contract, your annual compensation is 4.1 billion. As the result, you get more than company’s turnover in 3 years?
Rain: The money which I get is based on the ratio 7:3 per contract. As an artist, I work around the clock three years, I am always doing my best. In first 1-2 year is the period of preparation, it usually goes through it then the sales will grow positively. In fact, the company’s turnover is increased from the first year, 3 billion won to 9 billion won ( reporter note: As of June 2009, the total sale was 9.1 billon won). Now is the time to harvest the results. Since the day I got money from the contract, the company has begun to make a reasonable income. It’s harvest time, however, conflict between shareholders and management team has emerged.
Q: The reasons why investors are angry because you sold all your JTune shares?
Rain: During that time, I personally had a very painful experience. Due to the experiencing of the failure of fashion business (six to five), so I completely understand my involvement would bring the significant impact of others. It’s too difficult to be an artist at the same time as a businessman. I also experienced some malicious use my status as artist. I think it is good enough for me to make every effort to be a singer or artist. From now on I just want to be an artist.

Rain: I don’t want to be the largest shareholder. I don’t even know how to become the largest sharehold. Since my initial investment of J.Tune, I have considered myself as an investor rather than an operator. As we all know, artist is not a very stable job, no one knows what things happen will be. Of course, I never thought of big gains from investment.
Q: You say you don’t know the meaning and responsibilities of the largest shareholder, but majority of investors considered J.Tune as your company.
Rain: I just realized that I am the largest shareholder through the media. But also, because company is operated by the board of management, so I don’t know how should exercise the power of the largest shareholder. I have neither the right to speak nor attended general meeting of shareholders as the largest shareholder. I treat my investment as a general investment like an ordinary investor. In order to avoid misunderstanding, I managed to sell all shares in various stages.
Q: In view publicity, your purchase aimed at “getting the right to manage”
Rain: The definition of “management rights” here and the general meaning in the market are difference. For me, the “ management rights” refer to the right to decide what kind of work I do. In addition, I absolutely didn’t participate any operations management. The public bulletin you mentioned is the first time I know. It quoted me out of context if I participated in the operation. Q: If there were more companies with higher payment, why did you select J.Tune? You don’t want to get more profit in the result of listed companies, do you ?
Rain: Although there was company proposed with 10 billion won, I think good people with common language even more important. I just want to feel happy to engage in the performing arts, and now I am working on it. I work 365 days without hesitate, that is because I hope to bring company in the ratio of 7:3 revenue. However, even so, misunderstanding is still existed, I really sad.
Q: Deficit is always the problem of J.Tunet. Turnover is less than investmen, the more activities, the more deficit…
Rain: Why is the turnover is much lower than the investment? In fact, I don’t understand. At first, when I went to USA, I just lived in an apartment with small room. Some people said I should travel in J.Tune expense in my USA trip. However, most of the cost was the expenditure of film company and related investment companies, J.Tune almost spent no money on it, but still deficit, which I really don’t understand. Frankly, I even don’t quite understand how the structure of investment funds. Thus, I can’t give you a clear answer.
Q: Before the company has been listed, 4,7 billon won which you have invested is your own money? Because you get 15 billion won from the contract, so you seems not pay much though...
Rain: Right, I invested all my earned money at that time. Some people said that I invested what I have taken from the contract, but my contract payment is received after listing. That is the money which I rightfully earned.
Q: The majority spending of J.Tune’s turnover is their largest shareholder, Rain. Is it obviously the deficit and stock price drop is because company gave you (Rain) the large sum of money?
Rain: At that time, I asked the management why no investment on other businesses, they said they were waiting for good target . That’s why I was very happy when they said they wanted to open clothing company. However, I felt burden if company just rely too much on me.
Q: Many people invest to J.Tune because they believe in Rain, but they end up losing money. Have you ever put yourself in the small shareholders’ position?
Rain: Thus, I changed the proportion of my income from 7:3 to 5:5 ,and signed the contract. Accordingly, deficit is reduced from onwards. 5:5 is the proportion for new artist.
