CNBLUE Jonghyun & Minhyuk’s HD Interview with The Star Chosun (10.09.2010)
The 15th Pusan International Film Festival opened last night in Busan. Even though tired from their heavy schedule, CNBlue members Lee Jonghyun and Kang Minhyuk did not show it during the interview. Both members transformed from singers to actors as they were casted in the movie “Acoustic” (directed by: Yoo Sang Heon). “Acoustic”, a film about music,is a 3-part (episodes) Omnibus film and actors Shin Saekyung, 2AM’s Im Seulong and CNBlue’s Jonghyun and Minhyuk all featured as leading character in their respective episodes.
The boys are featured in the episode “Bakery Raid” that tells a story about young people and the love of music. Jonghyun‘s character “Sangwon” is a boy passionate about music and like to bully his brother. He cares for his brother but he is the type that does not show his warm heart towards him. Minhyuk‘s character, “Haewon“,who is into music like his brother, is portrayed as a foolish boy who caused the incident in the bakery.
If there’s an opportunity in the future, will continue to act again
When asked about the first movie, Jonghyun said ” To be honest, ‘I should have done better’..that is what I always think“. He then continues,” I want to try (acting) again. In the future, if I’m offered a job (in acting), I will do better,” he said inspiringly.
He thinks that acting and music are the same,as both are forms of arts,”More than anything, I take being an actor as a learning process and hopefully everything goes well?“
Jonghyun and Minhyuk were casted in “Acoustic” as they are both members in the popular rock band (CNBlue) and the brotherhood they share within the group will appear naturally (in the movie).
Glad to come to Busan because of the movie
Busan-born Jonghyun said that attending the Pusan International Film Festival (is like) coming back to his hometown after a long time, “I used to attend the festival every year with my friends and we would have fun together. This time it is an honor to actually be INVITED to the festival. I hope I will have the chance to attend it again,“he said.
Yonghwa is jealous? He gave us encouragement instead.
CNBlue’s leader, Jung Yonghwa who debuted in SBS drama “You’re Beautiful” was ‘furious’ of the two brothers [Jonghyun and Minhyuk] after he heard the news. “How come both of you got casted in a movie when I haven’t?” he asked jokingly while showing a hint of jealousy. [too cute!!] Contrast to his first reaction, Yonghwa was a big help in many ways to Jonghyun and Minhyuk, especially when they have their script reading.
As Yonghwa is their ‘senior’ in acting, Minhyuk was asked whether he received any advice from him, “The role of Haewon is a bit challenging to act out, so Yonghwa Hyung gave me many tips,“he said.
The interview for the day ended with Jonghyun and Minhyuk’s words,” Today we greet you as actors, but in the future please support us as CNBlue members too. We will work hard to give you good music.“
Meanwhile,the first movie of these debut actors,”Acoustic”, a delightful and enjoyable movie about music, will be released on October 28th.
