Ep.1
Tae-hee is the one present at the airport. The boy, Philip walks out with a male stranger and is clinging on to the edge of his jacket. He is instinctively wary of Tae-hee and seeks refuge with the stranger. The stranger wants to know if Tae-hee is Philips mother

Ep.2
The male stranger with Philip is Im Ha-ra (Hwan Hee) and he is now in the backseat with Philip who is napping; Tae-hee at the wheel and at the target of his insinuated accusations that shes an irresponsible mother.
Ha-ra is not shy about voicing his negative opinions of Tae-hee and to drive home his point, he tells her that Philip was earlier scared to death on the plane when the plane had to remain circling in the air due to a delayed landing. Philip had feared that even Ha-ra is going to abandon him. It was only when Ha-ra gave his assurance that he will be his protector to the end that had finally eased Philips fears.
Much as he shouldnt be interfering since hes only paid to accompany Philip on the trip, he strongly feels that Tae-hee shouldnt have given birth to a child that she cannot be responsible for and in the event, caused Philip much suffering. It chills his heart to see that a mother could barely offer an emotion when faced with her flesh and blood. He then tells her that Philip requires psychiatric consultation which holds Tae-hees attention for a second.
Ha-ra, obviously a man who is used to voicing his opinions, continues to admonish Tae-hee for subjecting Philip to being pushed around and failing to understand the pain that he has to bear with. By now, Tae-hees patience is thinning although she maintains her calm, but quite bluntly she tells Ha-ra to be quiet. Shes thankful to him for accompanying Philip on this trip and its because of this gratitude that shes giving him a ride to his destination.
Ha-ra is offended by her patronizing stance and raises his voice at her. Does she really think that hes accepting a ride from her as a reward? He has hopped on only because Philip is unwilling to let him leave! Philip is woken up by the noise, clearly frightened and huddles closer to Ha-ra. Ha-ra points that out to Tae-hee and questions how a mother can steel her heart towards her child? Tae-hee remains silent but is clearly bemused by his speech.
Finally, they arrive at Ha-ras destination. He gently removes Philips head from his lap onto the seat and alights while Tae-hee brings out his luggage. Tae-hee thanks him but Ha-ra still annoyed with her, asks if shes capable of feelings? He points out to the song that was playing in her car and wonders if she really understood the kind of love described within the lyrics?
Tae-hee seems contend to leave him to his opinions and is definitely eager to end their meeting. She merely smiles and walks away while he throws her a last word of advice: to take good care of Philip. As Tae-hee enters the car, Philip awakes and is shocked to realize that Ha-ra is no longer there.
He kneels on the seat and bangs on the window shouting for Ha-ra to come with him. He got Ha-ras attention but theres simply nothing the man can do for the boy anymore; he looks at Philips painful expression as the vehicle pulls away.
Back home later, Tae-hoon and his mother are engaged in another heated discussion about Philip. Tae-hoon insists that he will not believe that Philip is his son until he receives the DNA result. Madam Min asks what he intends to do then if the result does show that they are indeed father and son? Tae-hoon insists that its not even remotely possible!
He steers the discussion to his creditors which is of greater urgency. If they gets to him, its going to drag Tae-joon in the dirt. Madam Min tells him to cease his film-making plans, marry Philips mother and reopen his hospital. And then starts thinking about how hes going to live his life! Tae-hoon insists that his debts are of a greater concern because its going to smear the family reputation if not settled soon enough.
Yoon-hee enters the room with tea and Tae-hoon asks about Philips whereabouts. Yoon-hee smiles and asks if he should have showed his concern earlier? Tae-hoon tells her that hes asking because he wants to have the DNA test done as soon as possible. Madam Min looks at her hopeless son and wonders aloud how a person like him could harbor thoughts of making a successful film? What kind of story is he capable of telling?
Ha-ra is viewing the video-recording that he had taken of Philip when they first met in the States. Philip was crying and has no idea who his parents are. Ha-ra had promised to take care of him the reason why Philip has bonded himself to Ha-ra. He then receives a call from the stations chief asking if he has met a woman while he was on assignment?
Ha-ra is told that a beautiful woman was here with a kid asking for Ha-ras address and claiming that Ha-ra needs to be responsible for the boy. Ha-ra is befuddled but the chief is already telling him to just wait at home for them to come to him. Not long after, Tae-hee arrives with Philip and the little boys earlier trepidation turns to delight when he sees Ha-ra.
At Ha-ras rooftop, Philip is enjoying his play with Ha-ras dog while Tae-hee tries to persuade Ha-ra to come along with her because Philip is refusing to go to the hospital. Ha-ra asks if shes intending on hurting Philip again (by allowing them to bond) or is she here on pretense because she really wants to see him?
Tae-hee is not cowered nor offended by his purportedly daunting attitude, instead reminds him that he was the one who had made a promise with Philip to be there for him something which he shouldnt have done and would have avoided the problem.
Ha-ra asks isnt it logical for her to be looking for Philips father instead of coming to him wherever the man is. He warns her that she should be cautious around him as he usually seduces married women. However, she has nothing to fear as yet because he isnt a jerk who goes for the kill on the first meeting.
Tae-hee is amused and tells him that he has gotten all the facts wrong. If theres any seducing to be done, she would be the one to do it. Her statement stuns Ha-ra who hasnt the time to come around it before she repeats her request for him to accompany them to the hospital.
At the hospital, Tae-hee and Ha-ra are mistaken for Philips parents. The doctor has clearly formed a negative impression about them and on advice, tells them that the role of parents is detrimental to a childs health and happiness. Ha-ras shabby attire isnt helping the situation, adding to the doctors belief that hes the problem parent in the family.
As they leave the department, Ha-ra is amused over the situation and thanks Tae-hee for giving him the opportunity to be a parent. He then tells Philip now that he knows where he stays, Philip should feel at ease. He wants him to be obedient and follow his routine in the family which Philip agrees. Ha-ra is satisfied and about to leave when Philip pulls him back asking if he can call him on the phone? He then asks Ha-ra to send him home.
Tae-hoon is overjoyed that his mother has agreed to settle his debts on his behalf but his joy is short-lived when he soon discovers that his mother is confiscating all his assets in return for the favor! He tells Yoon-hee that his mother is bent on turning him into a beggar and making sure that he will not be able to dabble in his film projects ever!
Yoon-hee diplomatically tells him that his mother never quite put it that way but in a business sense, she did imply that debts should be paid off. Yoon-hee would have done the same if she was in their mothers shoes. Tae-hoon asks Yoon-hee if she was the one who had came up with the idea? Yoon-hee tells him that she has no reason to be the bad guy. Tae-hoon tells her that she is being the bad guy by handing him the documents.
Yoon-hee asks if he would have preferred that his mother meets him personally then? Tae-hoon refuses to accept the unreasonable condition, which Yoon-hee agrees to convey to Madam Min. As she gets up and reaches over for the cheque, Tae-hoon is forced to give in and quickly stops her.
In an attempt to bribe her, he tells her that he had intended to invite her to Cannes and walk the red carpet if he succeeds in his film-making. Yoon-hee tells him that she had already been to Cannes on twelve occasions which she thinks is sufficient. Yoon-hee then reminds him to clear his office-apartment within three days and that his son will be back any time soon. Hes on Madam Mins order to go out to the door to receive him.
Tae-hoon reaches the front gate just as Tae-hee drives up. Ha-ra carries a sleeping Philip out and Tae-hee tells her brother to carry over the child. She introduces Tae-hoon as her brother but neglects on purpose to tell Ha-ra that hes also Philips father. Tae-hoon is curious about Ha-ras identity and mentions to him that he is familiar.
Ha-ra hands over Philip to Tae-hoon and takes his leave. Tae-hoon continues to question Tae-hee about Ha-ra but she tells him to take care of his own kid first. By now, Philip has awakened and hes shocked to see Tae-hoon just as Tae-hoon is shocked to see him.
Ep.3
The scene swiftly zips to Tae-hee who is still at work at the hotel with Philip in tow as hes refusing to leave her side. She heads the Marketing and Promotions Department and is just off the phone with their advertising agency over an unsatisfactory project. Philip tells her that he misses Ha-ra but she tells him to stop asking for Ha-ra as hes busy and they arent free to go anyway.
Shes getting edgy over the repeated calls with the ad agency and starts hollering over the phone when another call comes in which she assumes to be the same caller. She tells the other party that she simply cannot accept their proposal. The caller turns out to be Ha-ra whos calling from the bookshop.
As she has no idea who he is, Ha-ra teases her some by impersonating someone from the Im Ha-ra Ad Agency and promises that he will do a fine job at a fairly reasonable price. She gets that its not her ad agency calling but still couldnt place the caller. He then identifies himself as Philips stand-in Dad. Shes surprised about how he got her contact number and he reminds her that she had went charging to his office to get his address (and likely to have left a business card).
He tells her that he has just finished reading her book and would like to discuss a matter with her could she come by his house? Tae-hee tells him that its impossible to schedule it today as she has to attend a family dinner. But Ha-ra is not to be rejected, he plays low and tells her that hes then not obliged to be there for Philip. He reminds her that favors need to be returned and he will be waiting. Just as he hangs up on her, Philip grumbles about wanting to look for Ha-ra which pretty much determines Tae-hees schedule for the evening.
