110112 All My Love Episode 38 Recap I shall name today's episode as 'The One With TOO MANY DRAMATIC IRONIES'.
The episode started with a student from the hakgwon giving Seung Ah a lollipop to show his liking for her. Seung Ah being Seung Ah accepted it with smiles and didn't think too much of it. But Ok Yeop was standing outside the classroom and didn't like the fact that she accepted the lollipop. When she came out of the classroom, he made her give him the lollipop. A round of tug-of-war ensued and they were finally stopped by Mi Sun. Mi Sun kept thinking that it was Seung Ah who kept on pestering Ok Yeop because he told her those lies and once again offered Seung Ah shopping center vouchers to 'get rid of her'. On the other hand, it was Director Kim's deceased wife's death anniversary and he gave orders to Butler Kim to prepare the best. Secretary Jeon asked him if he had told Mi Sun about it. Director Kim tried to avoid the issue. Just then, Secretary Jeon received a call that informed him that the old lady who knows the lady who took Director Kim's daughter away woke up from the coma. They rushed to the hospital as quickly as they could only to find out that the patient went back into her coma.
Outside the hospital room, Director Kim was lamenting they were so close when Seung Ah's granny turned up to visit the friend. They asked her what was she doing at the hospital and she told them about her friend who woke up from the coma. She went on to reveal how this person had helped her when she was facing difficulties with her business. Director Kim actually asked what business she was involved in and she was about to answer when a call came in on Director Kim's phone. Director Kim excused him to leave the hospital and Granny went in to visit her friend.
One of the highlights of today's episode were the 2 dreamscapes that Seung Ah and Director Kim had. Seung Ah dreamt of her mother and she called out to her in the sleep. That woke Granny up and Seung Ah told her about the dream and asked her how her mother looked like. Granny tried to brush it off by saying she looked exactly like Seung Ah.
Director Kim announced at the breakfast table that it was his deceased wife's anniversary the next day and told Mi Sun not to think too much about it and that Butler Kim would take care of the preparation. Mi Sun actually volunteered to do the cooking even though she is totally bad at it, thinking that Butler Kim would be around to help her. In the end, Butler Kim told Secretary Jeon that he wasn't going to let her take credit for his work. So he pretended to be very sick the next day, and Mi Sun was left with NO ONE TO HELP HER. Not even Doo Joon's mother or Granny because the stall was very busy. Ok Yeop and Geum Ji escaped to Doo Joon's house. In the end Seung Ah volunteered to go and help. (See, I already said it's an ep with a lot of dramatic ironies: daughter making the food for her own mother without her knowing.) (Sidenote: Butler Kim's obsession with the drama is hilarious! This ep, it wasn't watching the show but a fan club meeting that he was going for. He's almost like us.)
Ok Yeop and Geum Ji arrived at Doo Joon's house and of course, Geum Ji being Geum Ji has to order him around. She made him cook kimchi fried rice for her and Doo Joon just willingly did it. Ok Yeop went on to criticise her for being totally in love with Secretary Jeon and yet orders Doo Joon around. He started chanting "Tae Su, Tae Su, Jeon Tae Su". Not to be outdone, Geum Ji replied with "Seung Ah, Seung Ah, Yoon Seung Ah". Then you get the oblivious Doo Joon, who just went on cooking.
So since the offerings had been settled, the ceremony started. As much as Mi Sun said she didn't mind in front of Director Kim, she did. Director Kim made a promise to his deceased wife, saying that no matter what, he would make sure that their daughter would be there for her next anniversary. Yes, dramatic irony because Seung Ah was cleaning up in the kitchen and didn't even know who she was cooking for.
Secretary Jeon sent Seung Ah home on the pretext that he needed to get something done in the vicinity where she stays. In the car, he wanted to apologise for getting Director Kim to extend her working hours. Seung Ah replied cheerfully and said it was really part of her job and asked him not to feel bad about it. She eventually fell asleep after being amazed by the fact that the car seat actually warms up. Secretary Jeon, looking at her sleeping, SMILED!!
That night, Director Kim had a dream where his deceased wife came and scolded him, "How can you do such a thing to our daughter?!", probably in direct reference to how he has been treating Seung Ah in real life. And then she slapped him and he woke up, questioning himself what exactly he had done wrong.
COMMENTS: Like I said at the beginning of this recap, it is an episode of dramatic ironies (audience knows the truth but everyone in the drama doesn't). I hope that the secret would be revealed soon because I want to see the reactions of 1. Director Kim 2. Secretary Jeon 3. Mi Sun, Ok Yeop and Geum Ji. For 1 and 3, it's going to be fun watching them bowing down to her, esp. mother and twins. Secretary Jeon.. I want to see whether he would change how he feels about her since she's the daughter of the enemy after all. Yes, this drama is getting more interesting. Though I really hope that Doo Joon's character can be developed as well and not just be there as a comic relief. Poor boy! But I believe the turning point would be when he absolutely refused to listen to Geum Ji anymore. That's probably when Geum Ji will begin to take him seriously and then we can see the development of this love-line! Writers! Don't start something you can't finish~ But well, you have 82 ep (if not more) to get it written.
