Realistic Character-Geumjis Acting
Ga-in is one of the lead vocalists in the group Brown Eyed Girls, who have attracted and garnered explosive popularity through Abracadra. A distinct characteristic that sets Ga-in apart from others is her smoky eyeliner and makeup. Now, she takes on the role of Geumji, a girl who loves brand name merchandise, in the sitcom All My Love. Having started your (Ga-in) acting career through the movie Closer to Heaven and since this is the first time that you have participated in a daily sitcom, how do you feel about your acting skills?
G: At first, I was really nervous. Three of the actors in the sitcom, including me, are idols so we naturally knew very little about acting. My mindset was to not cause any complications during the shootings. To how well I could act, I had no confidence whatsoever. Seeing me conflicted, Park Mi Sun patiently and kindly taught me. Due to her guidance I can now act naturally and confidently.
Q: Next, what do you think about Geumjis character?
G: Actually, I dont really understand her completely. I think she is a very realistic but has great compassion.
Q: Are there any similarities between you and Geumji?
G: We are similar in that we both are forward with our emotions and display our feelings clearly. But how Geumji acts regarding to love and how she goes about handling that feeling is very different from myself. I am not the kind who will try to change someone-i-likes personality or abuse someone who likes me. And I definitely wont sacrifice friendship for someone I like.
Q: In the sitcom, Geumji really craves double eyelids.
G: In the past, I really wanted to get double eyelids but because of my eyes, a lot of people liked me, so I never really thought about getting double eyelids anymore. If I didnt enter the entertainment circle, I might have gotten that surgery, who knows.
Q: Geumjis fashion is also a hot topic.
G: Actually, her style is completely different from mine. In my closet at home, most of my clothing are black , grey, or dark colored. Personally, I dont like bright clothing and I dont usually wear mini skirts.
I have always like basic styles, like pants and one piece. Im like a tomboy.
Q: Lastly, lets hear about All My Loves good points.
G: Recently, people around me have said that All My Love is really good. I think its easy to enjoy a story with characters that are unrealistic and thats one of the main draws of the sitcom. While a character is not realistic in the sitcom, in our hearts there may be an inner part that is also like that so I feel at ease when Im watching the sitcom. That, I think, is All My Loves good point.
