JUST 2AM
We met 2AM, who is enjoying a little break before advancing to overseas, at the advertisement filming set for a cosmetic brand, i.myss. Pretty skin Jo Kwon who has been wanting to do cosmetic ad, Seul Ong who used to have a complex regarding his dark skin but now he's happy with it, maknae Jin Woon who always uses moisturizing cream, and the polite and likeable Chang Min. This is a bit of a grooming story about those four men.
CECI You have become the model for i.myss. Oh, congratulations. What do you think is the reason 2AM is chosen to be the model? It's okay to brag about it.
Jin Woon Maybe it's because of our natural skin. Haha.
CECI What do you think is your naturally charming point?
Jin Woon Whenever I look in the mirror, I pay a lot of attention to my nose. Because my nose is not good-looking. And our stylist noonas said my skin was healthy and praised me a lot. Hehe.
CECI If you were to be born again, what is the one grooming item you would like to have?
Jin Woon Mmm... I don't have any special thing I want, but before I go to bed I put a lot of moisturizing cream and I drink a lot of water.
CECI If you get a chance to choose someone else's face and body in your next life, who will it be?
Jin Woon I would like to be born again with features like the leading actor in superhero movie "Iron Man" and "Sherlock Holmes", Robert Downey Jr. He's very charming. I also want to grow old coolly just like that. It'll be very cool to have fine lines in the face.
CECI What is the style that you absolutely want to try before you die?
Jin Woon I want to wear the Batman suit and drive the Batman mobile very slowly along the street packed with people.
CECI If you were asked to choose between 10 million won in cash and vacation for 6 days and 5 nights, what will you choose?
Jin Woon I know! Vacation for 6 days and 5 nights!!! If that happens, the very first thing to do is to travel. Thinking about where to go and savoring the moment.
CECI Last but not least, as the youngest in the group, please tell us something about 2AM's plans in the future.
Jin Woon Since we gradually have more and more activities overseas, we get on the plane every week to do overseas promotions. We will soon prepare for our new album. Jo Kwon Hyung will continue doing his sitcom and doing overseas promotions at the same time. I think he will show you more of himself as an actor in the future. I'm also in the middle of preparing my solo album. Wow. We are quite busy.
CECI Can you tell us a bit about the solo album?
Jin Woon I'm attempting the kind of music which is very close to the genre I like. Haha. "Please look forward to it".
CECI How does Jo Kwon the perfect idol cope with HD TV?
Jo Kwon Since this is my job, so I pay a lot of attention to my skin. I drink a lot of water, I try my best to sleep well. Once a week I make sure I go to dermatologist to get skin treatment. I always remember to ask questions about skin to the hair & make-up experts to get some knowledge. Before I go to bed, I take a moisturizing pill. I'm still young, so rather than elasticity, I pay more attention to moisturizing. I also put on eye cream.
CECI What charming point do you inherit?
Jo Kwon I inherited white skin and red lips from my mother who has very fair skin. My lips are normally red and people sometimes thought I had lip-gloss on. When I put on make-up, I make sure I put on lip-gloss which has the same color as my lips.
CECI If you have to choose one grooming icon in this generation?
Jo Kwon Won Bin Hyung! He used to have this pretty boy and boyish image, but when he entered his 30s he gradually transformed into a cool and mature man. I often heard that people looked at me like a kid, a boy, a school boy, but when I'm getting older I would like gradually show my cooler and deeper side of me. To the one and only Jo Kwon's personality!
CECI Of all the grooming stage, which stage do you like the most?
Jo Kwon When I put on foundation! My skin looks good. Hahaha. Since there's no color that match my light skin, I have to put on another deeper color right to my neck. I actually think fair skin is nice.
CECI Imagine your girlfriend's make-up.
Jo Kwon Elegant make-up is nice. With some lip-gloss.
CECI What is the thing that excites you and what is the thing that makes you laugh out loud recently?
Jo Kwon If I can empty out my schedules for one day in my lifetime and rest without having to do anything. If I watch the trailer for the movie which Im Chang Jung and Kim Soo Mi sunbaenims appear in, I will laugh for 30 minutes.
CECI During the time you take your time off your album, what have you get and lose?
Jo Kwon Since I'm still doing the sitcom at the moment, I keep losing my weight. So the thing I lose is my weight, and the thing I get is the motto "Be good in everything you do".
CECI The brand's image is luxurious yet familiar, since it's about skin that sings, people said 2AM is the most suitable choice for it.
Seul Ong When I heard the news that we were to be the model for a cosmetic brand, I was very excited and surprised. Besides, the brand will enter the whole Asia region starting from the Philippines, then Japan, Thailand, China, Singapore, Vietnam, India (t/n: they wrote "인도" which means "India", but my guess is that he probably meant Indonesia(?). Not sure if Korean cosmetic brands are also sold in India). There's a huge sense of duty since our names and faces are there as the models. And I'd like to say, "Thank you very much to the chief of advertising!"
CECI What is an idol's attitude when coping with HD TV?
Seul Ong Must take good care of the basic things. Including wash your skin regularly, and put in some effort to put on lotion!
CECI When you look into the mirror after you take your shower, have you ever felt thankful to your parents?
Seul Ong When I was a little kid, I used to have a complex about my dark skin, but now my dark skin looks healthy and manly so it's great. The thing that I'm concerned about recently is my droopy eyes... As I'm getting older, the eyes seem to get droopier. I should put on some eye cream.
CECI Pictures of you wearing plain clothes titled "The reality of the good-looking guy" are all over the internet. You might be embarrassed, but let's hear your story.
Seul Ong Wah! Even though there's this nickname of "The Four Heavenly Gods" in Ilsan, that's just a nickname my friends gave me jokingly. (Of course I didn't use it myself). When I'm still at school I already sang and performed, so people often talked about me, I guess. Haha
CECI There will be a lot of fans who are going to protest and say, "You said you were on a diet, but where is the weight you've lost?"
Seul Ong Of course I maintain my health and my muscles. I do my diet by eating chicken breast and sweet potato brown rice regularly, as well as working out constantly. After you revealed your body once, if your body degrades, fans will be disappointed, so I'm trying my best to maintain it.
CECI What is the thing that Im Seul Ong keeps an eye on right now?
Seul Ong Fashion that changes every season, the new technology items, and I'm very much interested in cars.
CECI Is there anything that can instinctively catch your attention when it comes to the opposite sex?
Seul Ong People with flawless skin! Even if it's only a flash, my radar will catch on to the skin.
CECI Before standing in front of the camera, what is the thing that Chang Min, as an idol, has to maintain?
Chang Min Mmm... (thinking) the right shading so my face will look slimmer?
CECI When you look in the mirror, what is the part of you that makes you go, 'Wow, that looks absolutely good!'
Chang Min Although my face is not like that of a pretty boy, I'd like to think my face is 'likeable'. Haha. There's nothing about me that I'm especially confident of. I just think in general I have everything in perfect balance. I think my features suit me.
CECI You looked like a warm man with your glasses on, but then you look manly with your glasses off. What are glasses to Chang Min?
Chang Min Honestly speaking... I did not wear glasses voluntarily. Jin Young Hyung told me to wear them... (^^;;; ) But I like my manly image now. (Actually I like my talent too) I just want to be someone with all kinds of moderate images. I think glasses are my other charm. I will be happy if there's a new image for me.
CECI Is there any style you must try before you die?
Chang Min I would like to be stylishly skinny. Not a body-builder image, but very, very slim body so I can wear skinny jeans and fitted suit.
CECIYou're on your little break at the moment, which idols do you start paying attention to recently?
Chang Min I like them all. Haha. I'm everybody's fan. Because I'm not doing any album promotion or entertainment shows these days, I watch TV at home and go like, "Waa~ Celebrities!!" I brag about the fact that I know those people's contact numbers.
CECI What is the scent I like my woman to give off?
Chang Min Actually I don't know much about perfume, but I like the scent of fabric softener the most. Haha. You know I'm a man. Aside from the smell from some the top of someone's head who has not wash her hair...
CECI Let's say a genie in the lamp can enhance three of your abilities. But with a cruel condition that you have to give up something that you cherish the most.
Chang Min First I want to ask for vocal talent, the second one is health, the third one is a good sleep. If I have to give up something... mmm... then it's not a genie. Only a devil demands conditions. Genies won't give you any conditions. There's nothing that I need which I have to give up another thing for.
