Annyeonghaseyo! And that's Hello in Korean if you're still clueless :)
So just last week a Korean ballad group by the name of 2AM was in Malaysia for a showcase and I was there along with The Breakfast Show crew at the event.
If you're wanting to ask why is 2AM called 2AM, I actually don't have the answer to that BUT The Breakfast Show crew did do a special one on one interview with the group and maybe, just maybe you'll find the answer through the interview--scheduled to air on Monday, 30th May 2011 at 8.30am on The Breakfast Show.
It was not 2AM's first time to Malaysia, but it was their first time having a showcase and performing at Wisma MCA. I guess that made the fans even more excited cause they get to see the boys up on stage, get up close and play games with them, and even see them perform their hit ballads.
But of course, before 2AM came out to take the stage, there was a lil' opening act by a group of students from the Bentley Music Academy. And guess what they performed? Yes, instrumental pieces of 2AM's songs. As simple as it sounds, it was interesting to hear the drums, bass and electric guitar play to a ballad which most of the time just utilizes piano for the melody. Add on to that the saxophone as the lead instrument, definitely a combo no one expected, and the performance gained much applaud from the crowd.
By this time, the 2AM boys were ready to appear and sing, opening the show with Can't Let You Go Even If I Die. They sang a total of 6 songs, including You Wouldn’t Answer My Calls, Like Crazy, I Did Wrong, etc.
Throughout the event, there were some interactive game sessions where pre-selected fans got to go on stage to play games with the boys. Some were made to guess the next line of the song after 2AM sang a small part, some had to imitate their poses, but the best one was when these 4 fans were made to sit while 2AM serenaded them with their song. It was definitely interesting to watch cause well I think I would've screamed if I got serenaded to with such vocals ;)
I'm betting it was an unforgettable night for the fans and 2AM--with the Birthday Surprise for 2AM members and 2AM's short A Capella chorus of Sisqo's Incomplete as a surprise in return.
For the 2AM fans who want to know what info 2AM delved in the one on one interview, have a look at the Press Conference, and relive the showcase moments, don't forget to catch The Breakfast Show on Monday, 30th May 2011 at 8.30am!
