Q1. LMH-sshi, thank you for supporting me2day talk. It seems like both your manly appeal and cute charm is shown in the drama City Hunter, making it double the fun. Did you pay particular attention to either your characters appearance or style?
Hello. Nice to meet you. Im LMH. From now on, ill post the interview during my spare time. Me-users (referring to me2day), please dont panic ^^. The initial preparation was to infuse a sense of agility and strength to my characters external appearance through action practices and building up stamina. As the script was penned and i started to learn more about the character, I started to concentrate more on Yoon Sungs inner pain, loneliness, how he uses a different exterior to shield his inner turmoil and his emotional changes.
Q2. There are a lot of action scenes in the drama. How much training did u go through?
Starting from the very basics, ??? or stamina training, to martial arts, there were various things that I learned. City Hunter contains many different types of action scenes. Please find out for yourself when the drama broadcasts ^^. Make sure you catch it live!
Q3. You spent a long time filming in Thailand. Were there any difficulties due to the weather or food?
Ive visited Thailand quite a number of times, they treat me well so I felt comfortable. It was really hot one day. around 37C? Everyone made great effort to get accustomed to the heat.
Q4. Of all the projects youve taken part in, including City Hunter, which image of the character do you like best? What about your fav hairstyle amongst the project?
Lee Yoon Sung which Im playing now. ah
actually, its hard to decide which is better. I feel attached to all of them. What do you (me-users) think?
Q5. After your debut, is there any particular appearance of yours you wish were erased from everyones mind? Could it be the incident where you fell during the red carpet event of the Baek Sang awards?
Precisely that! (<??) Theres nothing else I can think of. A lot of people talked about that incident at Baek Sang. I was really shocked when it happened, but the pictures turned out interesting.. laugh. Now i view it as a good memory~
Q6. What did it feel like having personally rode on the elephant in Thailand? It must be rather difficult riding on it without a saddle.
After getting on the elephant, it took a few steps before i managed to sit on it. Although it didnt come out in the video, I even crossed a river sitting on the elephant. Of course it felt great~ Perhaps it grew too fond of me that it spewed out some cool liquid on me. I never knew it was saliva before this.
Q7. Are you someone who falls deeply into the character you play? How do you rid yourself of the character you play after the projects completed?
It seems so.. After completing a project, I rest and do other things and naturally pull out of the character.
Q8. While monitoring yourself, do you find any thing that has changed compared to when you first debut? What are those points?
I havent compared myself to when I first debuted. I tend to view the monitor in the midst of filming, there are times when my expression was different from what I thought. That is the same feeling i get when i hear my recorded voice (as if its not his voice). it keeps me from staying subjective (???).
Q9. Since you have to stomach a hectic filming schedule daily, what is your secret to stay physically well? Do you take any special food or nutritional supplements?
I try to sleep and eat well~~~ Ah, and also, theres one thing that gives me strength.. when fans lend their encouragement not just towards me, but extend it to members of the staff, for this Im deeply grateful.
Q10. Have you ever thought yourself handsome? when do those thoughts arise?
Before I start filming but have completed all preparatory work? (in the news article, he said something along the lines of right before i start filming when i already have my make up on) As different situations arises, there are instances when i think i look good and times when I look unattractive.
Q11. How do you usually spend your time when you dont have a schedule? Im curious to know who are the people in the entertainment circle that you connect well with?
I dont do anything special. I watch movies, exercise, play games, eat out with middle school friends or jung ilwoo, kim bum or my family.
Q12. The actresses youve worked with(goo hye sun, son ye jin, park min young) up til now are mostly older than you right? In actuality, do you prefer older women? Do you work in good harmony with Park Min Young currently?
Perhaps becoz im young? i tend to act with people older than me~ I first acted with PMY in a CF when i was 20 yrs old. There are other people that are younger than me in City Hunter, so im working hard in a bright lively environment.
Q13. Sunbaes such as Won Bin and Jung Woo Sung and others have acted as special agents before. Are there any sunbae actors that you find memorable amongst these? Did you refer to any project or actor when you prepared for your current role?
There are many wonderful actors that I find impressive! As I watch these sunbaes, the first thought that came to me was that i have to work hard. As for my current role
since the original manga exists, Im channeling my effort to the new interpretation of Lee Yoon Sung through a korean charisma/appeal.
Q14. Do you still keep in contact with the actors/actresses of Boys Over Flowers? Who is the person that youve contacted and also has contacted you recently?
Kim Bum-sshi.. laugh.
Q15. Did you mention having contacted kim bum of BOFs F4 recently? Im curious to your conversation. Did kim bum say anything good about City Hunter?
Perhaps its becoz we both understand the difficulties when filming a drama
instead of conversing a lot, we usually tell each other to not get hurt (not get into accidents) and forge on ahead (hwaiting!). These kind consideration
those kinda words become a strong support.
Q16. MH-sshi, after BOF, have you ever wandered on a busy street? What about using the public transportation?
In reality, it was difficult to do so during the time of BOF~ After BOF, i was out for overseas promotion. While walking with the staff, people of korean ethnicity who passed by us would say isnt that LMH? is it possible for LMH to be doing that here? It was kinda interesting
and amusing. Recently I go around well on my own. laugh.
Q17. It has been 2 days since me2day talk started. Do you access me2day through the computer or through a smartphone? You must feel unfamiliar doing an interview online, right?
I mainly use a smartphone. I feel more nervous compared to speaking? I feel embarrassed at times when i see what is typed(<???). laugh. I thought this will be easy/comfortable, but i start to think even more. laugh. I havent written so much in real time before, it was a good experience. Do the me-users who are participating with me also feel nervous?
Q18. How was filming today? It seems like you pay special thoughts to the action scenes recently.
I filmed one scene in the morning. I dont have any scenes until night time so im doing the interview ^^. There are parts of the action scenes that I have practiced before
I discuss a lot with the director at the filming location, provide ideas, and work together with the staff
just like the spoon action, there will be fresh elements so i hope the viewers will have a fun time watching the drama.
Q19. Aside from props, did you purchase a plastic model gun for practice? Do you like such self-assembly toys?
I bought it. In the original manga, saeba ryo used a .357 Colt Python.. I have several different types. I have practiced shooting using ball bullets. laugh. after that, i went for target practice using live ammunition.
Self-assembly kits, i like them. I like flying toy helicopters, and manipulating cars. I remember breaking my managers rc helicopter.
Q20. How would you feel if something like city hunter happens in real life where the presidents daughter, or a chaebols daughter or someone from an influential family continuously show their concern for you?
Firstly, it feels good when someone from the opposite sex likes you
laugh. You only get to know a person after meeting them right? I will just see it as a good thing at first (<???)
it seems like a drama. just like city hunter. laugh.
Q21. Did you have a proper meal at the film site today? What do you usually eat at the filming location?
I enjoyed the snacks/refreshments fans sent today.. When filming, I usually eat at the restaurants near by. If I discover any delicious eateries, I will go back again next time. laugh.
Q22. When your condition is not good, what secret method do you use to overcome it?
I tend to speak less when my condition is not good. firstly, if i replenish my sleep, ill get better. but if im working, theres nothing i can do. I try to think about the good side of it, and forget the bad. Please tell me your secret method. laughs.
Q23. When it comes to gun fights, Hong Kong was the best in the 80s. Have you watched the Hong Kong action flick a better tomorrow?
Of course. the a better tomorrow series. it was known as every guys utopia. laugh. I remember buying ball bullet guns to play with and humming to the songs~
