# Secret Garden is written by popular screenwriter Kim Eun-Suk, and directed by Shin Woo-Cheol. This duo has teamed up on several projects such as 'Lovers in Paris', 'Lovers in Prague', 'Lovers', 'On Air', and 'City Hall'. 'Lovers in Paris' is their first project together and it was a huge hit, ratings reach 50%. Followed 'Lovers in Prague', their projects did well, but not exceptionally hot until 'Secret Garden', a drama that created 'national syndrome'.
# Ha Ji Won was the first to sign on 'Secret Garden'. She was introduced to writer Kim Eun Sook by her good friend Song Yun Ah. It was said that she accepted the role without reading the synopsis. She said sometimes even without reading the script and just by looking at the title, you can tell that it's a shining production. (popseoul.com)
# Jang Hyuck was the first choice for the role of CEO Kim Joo Won, but due to whatever reason he dropped out then came Hyun Bin. The rest doesn't need explanation but we must thank Jang Hyuck, b/c there wouldn't be this facebook fanpage if Hyun Bin didn't jump on board.
# Strong premiere episodes made this drama - normally it'll take the 2nd week (episode 3 & 4) for viewers to grasp onto the drama or leave it. 'Secret Garden' either had you hooked on the first two episodes or didn't, same goes for the fans, either love or hate this drama, there's no line in between.

While watching Gil Ra Im performing stunts, Kim Joo Won is in awe of her awesome martial art skills and is smitten. The scene was set up quite nicely for the finale ending scene. Joo Won looks at Rim Im with curiousty as if he had met her before ~ nice hint drops by the writer.
Kim Joo Won walks with the imaginary Gil Ra Im in his estate. "I don't know why I keep thinking of you..."
At the end of episode 2, Kim Joo Won (by Hyun Bin) grabs the hand of Gil Ra Im (by Ha Ji Won) said To me, this woman is Kim Tae-hee and Jeon Do-youn (top Korean actresses). Once again Hyun Bin puts on his charm and captures the hearts of viewers. © thedramascenes.com

SBS TV series "Secret Garden" - Episode 1 & 2
After the arrogant and thoughtless department store CEO Kim Ju-won (Hyeon Bin) falls for the ordinary stunt woman Gil La-im (Ha Ji-won), he even ends up confessing, "To me, this woman is Kim Tae-hee and Jeon Do-youn [top Korean actresses]". That too in just two episodes of going on air.
In "Secret Garden", the main male character's emotion develops to its peak at a pace that is extremely fast compared to the usual romantic dramas, showing that it will not be the typical love story between a rich man and poor woman. Its focus is rather on 'change' and aims to be a coming-of-age drama about a man and woman who find their true selves after their souls switch. Hence the first two episodes of "Secret Garden" served as the basis to showing how different the two's lives are currently. Ju-won is a chaebol who goes to work exactly twice a week to sign paperwork but cannot ride elevators because he has claustrophobia, while La-im is a stunt woman who doubles for the main characters of movies but is holding out with the "pride of being an action star". When the souls of these people who are entirely different in both personality and class are switched, Ju-won will learn lessons to life through the physical work he experiences, while La-im will live as someone who confidently speaks her mind but discovers Ju-won's pain.
The two main characters growing up in completely opposite environments or their souls switching may be cliche set-ups separately but fused together, present an opportunity to become quite an interesting drama about transition. On top of this, writer Kim Eun-sook's unique style of scriptwriting brings the characters to life and by having Gil La-im be a stunt woman, she is regarded a 'cool' woman who works hard every day of her life to make a living than just be the object of pity of a wealthy man. All that is left now is to see them faced with their new lives after they go into each other's bodies. The actual story has yet to start.

Actress Ha Ji-won and actor Hyeon Bin's comeback drama, SBS "Secret Garden", started nicely by recording a 17.2% rating.
According to AGB Nilson Media Research, for the first episode of "Secret Garden", which went on air on the 13th, recorded 17.4% national viewers rating; it's the highest viewers rating compare to other programs which are on air at the same time.
The first episode is mostly about meeting of main characters such as, stunt woman 'Lime', proud department store owner 'Joo-won', Hallyu star 'Oscar', CF director 'Yoon-seul', and action director 'Jong-soo'.
On the other hand, MBC News Desk recorded 12.2%, and 'King Geunchogo' recorded only 10.3%; they are the programs that go on air at the same time as "Secret Garden".
