s Gyeongjong of Joseon (20th king of Joseon dynasty) motif of 'Rooftop Prince?
Because this is 'fantasy and full of scissors and paste' using Wikipedia by a fan girl who does not know well about history, DON'T take it seriously.

1. The book Park Ha reads at the preview of ep08 is 'The History of Joseon Dynasty-second volume' written by Lee Sungmoo.
The book contains history from King Sukjong to King Sunjong era.

2. The posthumous epithet given by Qing Dynasty to Gyeongjong is 'King Gakgong'
-> Rooftop Prince's name is 'Lee Gak'
(The King Gyeongjong's birth name was Lee Yun. His full posthumous name was 'The Great King Gyeongjong Gakgong Deokmun Ikmu Sunin Seonhyo')
3. Gyeongjong never had a child although he had 2 wives.
-> Lee Gak and Hwayong do not have any child although they have been married for more than 10 years.
(There is unofficial history that King Gyeongjong became impotent when he was young by Jang Huibin(his mother). She pulled his genitals because she got angry for being ordered to be killed by the King Sukong(his father). She used to be gungnyeo before she became royal concubine. 4. Gyeongjong's first wife Queen Danui suddenly passed out and died unexpectedly 2 years before Gyeongjong became king.
-> Hwayong died unexpectedly when Lee Gak is still Crown Prince.
(His consorts were entitled as "Crown Princess" before he became King and given the title "Queen")
5. There is a theory Gyeongjong was poisoned to death by eating crabs marinated in soy sauce and persimmon together.
-> In RTP, Lee Gak is allergic to crabs marinated in soy sauce (Episode 07). And, F4 make inference Hwayong has been killed by poison sprayed on dried persimmon (Episode 01).
(People say eating crabs marinated in soy sauce and persimmon can create bad effect if one is weak)
6. When Gyeongjong was Crown Prince, he managed the affairs of state as a substitute of his father King Sukjong who suffered illness for four years.
-> In episode of RTP, the King seems to be sick and he does not talk much. Lee Gak is the one who is asking for why Crown Princess has died. Lee Gak also says he complained about King's illness and difficulty with scholars to Crown Princess during the night.
Reminder, there are many historical parts that do not fit RTP. This just my fantasy, which probably is completely different from the writer.
I highly doubt if my predictions/inferences would be what the writer were thinking about. But, following predictions/inference might spoil some people.
-Noron tried to kill Gyeongjong when he was Crown Prince, but he acceded to the throne.
-> Someone tried to kill Crown Prince.
-> Maybe the poison on dried persimmon was actually to kill Crown Prince.
-> Maybe the group of people including Hwayong's father planned to kill Crown Prince because he kept insisting not talk about the death.
-> Unfortunately, the Crown Princess died instead of the Crown Prince. (I doubt if it was really Hwayong who died. I personally believe it is Booyong who died)
