[TRANS] Melon Music: Behind Story
From Melon website, the one that has the Moon & Zelo dance lessons, and the prac video of No Mercy.
*I did a rough translation, so its not word for word, but you can discover some new info!^^
Bang Yongguk: For this mini album, I had this thought of wanting to put the songs that are of value to me this period of time into the album, thus I spoke a lot to the producer hyungs. As I listened to No Mercy, I suggested that we could add in satoori rap and they love the idea and asked me to try it. Voice Message is a song that I wrote with Marco hyung, because these songs had my name with them, I become enthusiastic as I worked.
Himchan: Theres this samulnori part in NO MERCY. I was actually from Traditional music faculty in the past. When the samulnori team came during the broadcast, I had told my classmates what we would like them to do. Actually, its been a long time since I contacted them and I was kinda apologetic, they came willingly and practised with us and went on broadcast. I was really happy to be on the same stage with them. It was solid. Haha.
Daehyun: During the time when we shoot our MV, honestly, I did put on a little weight so I was worried. Thus, during the times when we practised our dance till wee hours and the days towards the MV shooting, I didnt eat a meal (per day). Because of that when we shot our MV, the staff around me said my jawlines is art. So theres effect if you go hungry for a meal. Haha.
Youngjae: This time, Himchan hyungs idea of getting a samulnori is being used in NO MERCY. During that part, Jongupie will be in the middle doing his solo performance while the 5 of us will be surrounding him doing a turning action. We will all jump and turn one round. This time, we used a lot of our muscles around our pelvis, which we seldom use it. Thus, when we first started to practise this part, it seems like we are going to collapse after doing it.
Jongup: I have a solo part this time. However, theres no special choreography to be taught to me but they told me since this part is yours, just do whatever you like and thus I felt a greater burden. Because there was the samulnori, initially, I was quite at a loss of what I should do. But I still make attempts to try this and that so that the whole atmosphere wont go wrong, and because the response was good, I had more confidence that I can do it well.
Zelo: I had discussed with Yonggukie hyung about how we should do the front Satoori rap in No Mercy. Thus, I talked to Daehyunnie hyung whos from Busan, and we discussed about that part, and later he taught me. At first, I really couldnt understand the meanings. I was from Mokpo. Haha. Thus, I had thoughts and interesting discoveries that ah, so Korean is a language that can differ in different provinces and the meanings are so different.
