เป็นธรรมเนียมทุกปี ก่อนที่จะประกาศรางวัลใหญ่ๆ สำหรับ Primetime Emmy Awards ในสัปดาห์หน้า ก็ถึงคราวของคนเบื้องหลังและทีมงานกันก่อน ไม่ว่าจะเป็นรางวัลเกี่ยวกับเสื้อผ้าหน้าผม เสียง สี เสียง ถ่ายภาพ และเทคนิคพิเศษต่างๆ


โดยปีนี้ Game of Thrones คว้าไปทั้งสิ้น 6 รางวัล ได้แก่สาขา
- Outstanding Art Direction for a Single-Camera Series* เสมอกับ Boardwalk Empire
- Outstanding Costumes for a Series
- Outstanding Makeup for a Single-Camera Series (Non-Prosthetic)
- Outstanding Sound Editing for a Series
- Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Drama Series
- Outstanding Special Visual Effects




รางวัลสาขานักแสดงรับเชิญ ค่อนข้างพลิกโผเยอะเหมือนกัน มีแต่ Jimmy Fallon ที่เป็นตัวเต็งตั้งแต่ต้นแล้วชนะไป

Outstanding Guest Actor In A Comedy Series - Jimmy Fallon, Saturday Night Live
Outstanding Guest Actor In A Drama Series - Jeremy Davies, Justified
Outstanding Guest Actress In A Drama Series - Martha Plimpton, The Good Wife

Kathy Bates หลังจากได้ชิง Emmy มา 9 ครั้งแล้วแพ้รวด มาชนะเอาก็ครั้งที่ 10 นี่แหละ โดยเบียดเอาชนะ 2 สาว Bridesmaids อย่าง Melissa McCarthy และ Maya Rudolph ที่รับเชิญใน Saturday Night Live
แล้วปีนี้ Kathy Bates ก็ยังมีสิทธิได้อีกหนึ่งรางวัลจากสาขา Lead Actress in a Drama Series สำหรับเรื่อง Harry's Law อีกด้วย

สาขาที่ Jeremy Davies ชนะ ดูเหมือนจะไม่มีตัวเต็งชัดเจน แต่คนที่น่าจะภาษีดีกว่าก็คือ Michael J. Fox และ Dylan Baker จาก The Good Wife รวมถึง Mark Margolis จาก Breaking Bad

การที่ Martha Plimpton ได้เข้าชิงในสาขานี้ เหมือนเป็นการปลอบใจที่อดเข้าชิงสาขานำหญิงจาก Raising Hope ซะมากกว่า แต่ไปๆ มาๆ กลายเป็นเธอชนะไปซะได้ โดยคู่แข่งคนสำคัญคือ Jean Smart (Harry's Law) และแชมป์เก่าอย่าง Loretta Devine (Grey's Anatomy)
