ความพร้อมในการเข้าเรียนอนุบาลของลูกเรา

กันยานี้ลูกชายสุดลิงของแม่หมูเจี๊ยบก็จะขึ้นอนุบาลแล้ว หลังจากที่เรียน state pre-k มา 2 ปีเต็ม เรียนทุกวัน วันละ 2 ชั่วโมงครึ่ง ก่อนปิดภาคเรียนครูก็เดินมาบอกเราว่า ปีนี้เราได้ทำการทดสอบความพร้อมในการขึ้นอนุบาลของเด็กเป็นปีแรก แล้วผลปรากฏว่า อัลเฟรดยังเรียกชื่อตัวอักษรผิด สลับกันมั่วไปหมด (พี่เฟรดจำ และออนเสียงได้ ก็มี A B C D E F I K L M O P(บางครั้ง) R S(บางครั้ง) T(บางครั้ง) U(บางครั้ง) V(เพิ่งเริมจำได้) W X Y Z(บางครั้ง)
ครูบอกอีกวา อัลเฟรดยังไม่สามารถบอกค่าของตัวเลขได้ ครูก็ถามลูกต่อหน้าเราเลยว่า

อัลเฟรด..........ตอบผิดหมดเลย
ไอ้เราก็ เฮ้ย...........เด็กเตรียมอนุบาลต้องรู้สิงพวกนี้ด้วยเหรอ อัลเฟรดนับ 1-30 ได้แล้ว (แค่นี้แม่ก็ภูมิใจสุดยอด) แต่เราเองก็ไม่เคยสอนลูกด้วยแหละ เพราะเราก็คิดว่า มันอาจจะเร็วไป ไว้ไปเริ่มสอนตอนเข้าอนุบาลล่ะกัน
เมื่อสองวันที่แล้วเราก็ลองตั้งคำถามแนวๆ นี้กับลูก อยู่ๆ พี่เฟรดก็ตอบได้ ตอบถูกขึ้นมาซะงั้น เราก็ดีใจยกใหญ่เลย
ช่วงนี้ปิดเทอม เราก็ไม่ค่อยได้ทำการเรียน เล่น และสอนอะไรลูกมากมาย เพราะอยากให้เค้าผ่อนคลาย สนุก เล่น พูด ไปวันๆ แต่เราก็ยังอ่่านหนังสือให้ลูกฟัง อาจจะไม่ทุกวัน เพราะมีลืมบ้าง เหนื่อยบ้าง หลับพร้อมกันทั้งแม่และลูกเลย
เมือเดือนที่แล้วได้ไป parents tea party for kindergarten มา ก็ได้เอกสารมาบอกให้เรารู้ถึงจุดประสงค์ของการเรียนการสอนในระดับชั้นอนุบาล ว่าจะเป็นอย่างไร แล้วเด็กจะได้อะไรบ้าง
The curriculum focuses on the development of the whole child, including the cognitive, social, physical, and emotional development. The children will have many opportunities to explore and experience materials and manipulatives first hand, which will aid in their understanding of the concepts being presented. The children need "hands on" experiences before they can move to symbolic form. The students will be pushed hard academically in the hopes that they will be reading and writing by the end of the year.
