Thai chili pepper is in level 3 that someone has make a chart. Mr. Kent Black had put this chart in his column--BIG HEAT-- on page 68 in--PLAYBOY--magazine ( November 2010 ) The chart give Thai--PRIK-KEE-NOO--chili pepper the Scoville ( unit to determine of the hotness of that chili pepper )of 100,000-225000 units.Which is the regular--PRIK-KEE-NOO--chili pepper. HABANERO chili pepper is native to MEXICO get 150,000-325,000 units which come in level 2. SCOTCH BONNET chili pepper is also tied in level 2 which get 150,000-325,000 units and is native of WEST INDIES ( JAMAICA--TRINIDAD--GUYANA ) And the first place is BHUT JOLOKIA ( it mean--GHOST CHILI )which is native of INDIA and BANGLADESH get 1,000,000 units.
I think that person has never try --BANG CHANG-- chili pepper which in my opinion is more hotter than both level 2 and also--PRIK-KRA-RIENG--( compare gram by gram )because I used to try all of them before ( BANG CHANG and PRIK-KRA-RIENG in THAILAND and both level 2 in the U.S.A.) I never try level 1 chili pepper, even I used to live in INDIA for 4 years because had gone to college there and had eaten most of the chili peppers.
