เท่าที่เห็นคนที่ไปคุยกับอาจารย์ส่วนใหญ่จะได้ทุกคน (ไม่รู้จะมีคนไม่ได้หรือเปล่า)
In my opinion, Khun BFP, it depends.
I think if the professor has looked at a student's profile, became interested, and extended his/her invitation to the student to visit (as in the case of Khun TTE), the student is much likely to get accepted unless that student is a complete disaster with poor interpersonal skills.
On the other hand, if a student takes a liberty and marches into a professor's office, this is a hit or miss. If that professor happens to desperately need more hands in the labs, then the student is likely to get in.
However, many times well-established professors do not prefer it this way. They don't necessarily like it if someone marches in and asks for a job. Partly, it's because these professors tend to have a lot of people in their labs already and they usually are very very good.
Just my two cents.
