I pesonally think you need to prepare all important documents such as proof of fund, proof of employment to show the Canadian Embassy in BKK that you will definitely not intend to stay for 2 years in Canada because you're basically authorized to enter canada as tourist. Hence all documents must be met by the applicant. A: Typically speaking, you are issued with a visitor's visa, if you satisfy immigration officials at the port of entry that you have a valid return ticket, and that you have sufficient funds for the duration of your stay. You might be luckily given maximum 6 months in Canada. Technically to extend your stay for six more months might possibly happen before your expiration of you authorized visit. Therefore You must have a good reason why you would like to stay longer in Canada but there is no guarantee that you will be granted the visa extension from Citizenship and Immigration Canada. Q: Should I apply Canada visa from US now or just wait to get it in Thailand? A: I would suggest you trying to apply Canadian Visa in America before you finish your programme. I guess it is much easier than applying Visa in Thailand. I've once seen somebody in Klaibann got Multiple 2 years, though. The Canadian Embassy in BKK rarely gives you 2 years multiple entry, unless you have a solid documents to show them, for example big dough in the bank. A: If you luckily get multiple entry to Canada, you can use it for repeating entries as long as the expiry date shown on your visa. Nevertheless  please remember the lenght of your stay depends impartially on the officer's consideration only. After you finish visiting your boyfriend, you should leave Canada krab. However please listen to K. @dd@'s advice if you will get married this guy for sure. You should legally follow the rules for example, to apply US Fiance Visa or just to visit him sometimes in Canada. krab.
