พอดีอาจารย์ที่คณะให้ลองเขียนอีเมล์ไปแนะนำตัวในเบื้องต้น กับ professor ที่ lab ที่สนใจน่ะครับ ก็เลยได้อีเมล์ฉบับนี้ออกมา กะว่าจะเขียนไปหลายๆ ที่ แล้วให้อันนี้เป็น prototype ครับ แล้วจะเปลี่ยนแปลงรายละเอียดเหตุผลของการเลือกแต่ละที่ ในแต่ละฉบับที่จะส่งไป ถ้าเกิดว่า response กลับมาแล้วดู promising ก็จะส่ง full statement ไปพร้อม admission อีกทีน่ะครับ

My name is .............. I am currently working as a member of the faculty, at the Division of Bacteriology, Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Medicine, ....................University. As a new staff member, I am required to pursue a PhD in microbiology. The tuition fee and other expenses will be supported by a scholarship provided by the Faculty. The purpose of this statement is to inform you that I am deeply interested in your graduate program and hoping to be able to participate in your laboratory, and also to give you a quick introduction regarding myself, my long term goal and my determination towards research and teaching.
I graduated with first degree honor from the Faculty of Medicine, ............... University in 2006. During my medical school years I have always had my concern in infectious diseases. However, I eventually discovered that my true passion was not entirely on the clinical aspect. It was indeed research that fascinates me the most. I can truly felt the importance of this particular kind of work and the beneficial contribution that it brought towards medicine, and I was willing to devote my entire self into it. Since teaching has always been a career I want to pursue, I gratefully took the precious opportunity to become a full-time faculty member for my medical school.
My main interest is currently set upon enteric pathogens, since they are still of substantial importance and have tremendous impact among the well-being of Thai citizens. A better understanding of their intricate interactions towards hosts as well as the molecular aspects of their pathogenesis would generously provide us the information needed in any future contribution of ground-breaking diagnostic, curative and preventive strategies.
I am certain that I am capable of handling and conducting researches. As a scientist, I truly believe in the dignity and virtue of researching. And as a medical doctor, I am convinced that my previous clinical experience would be of great benefit towards my future research. From my experience as a medical student, I am acquainted with the methodology of research and have had considerable hands-on experience with common equipments and procedures used in laboratories.
Teaching has always been a profession that I immensely admire, as well as researching. So after completing my PhD, I plan to return to Chulalongkorn University to be a faculty member, and also to continue my research in enteric pathogens. I will be responsible for students in the graduate program and medical students in their pre-clinical education.
I will be sponsored by a scholarship provided by the Faculty of Medicine, ........... University throughout my study. I have also taken the CBT TOEFL test with the score of ...... and I am currently preparing for the GRE which I am taking in mid-July. After I have both the exam scores and the required recommendations ready I will apply for your departments graduate program through the admission office, and I certainly hope that you would kindly consider me to be one of your graduate students in your laboratory.
