What kind of work experience have you had, if any? Can you relate that to the position you are applying for?
I am currently working in a position where I have very little expertise (a research in analytical chemistry field), but at the interview, I did my best - I studied hard on the topics related to the position (this can be found in the job description).
I didn't hide the fact that I was no expert, but I let them know that I can learn, and that they will benefit from my diverse experience. I eventually landed the job.
There's a lot to learn about my new job, but I'm really enjoying it.
Just show the world that you can do it, no matter what it takes. Believe in yourself and everyone will believe in you.
I'm not saying that I've never been dissappointed when it comes to getting a job. In fact I have - so many times, and at times I felt like giving up. But I didn't - I can't. (I was going insane being a stay-at-home mum. Now that I work full-time, I am a much happier person; My husband is happy for me, and for the fact that I was less bitchy with him! My son is happier because he gets to play with his friends at the daycare).
By the way, networking is very important in getting a job. 80% of the available positions aren't advertised. Don't rely on job ads alone. Go out and meet people in your professional field as much as you can. They may lead you to a job eventually. Ask you husband-to-be if he knows anyone in your field. Any relatives, close or distance; friends; friends of a friend etc. If you really want to get a job, you have to keep trying.
Just my two cents. GOOD LUCK!
