I would just treat them like when I meet any strangers of any races. I might be walking pass, sending a short gretting, or ending up having an enjoyable conversation--it all depends on the situation. I don't see anything exclusive given that that person is a Thai.
By the way, you should correct 'aboard' to ' abroad'. Otherwise, people might be misled that you asked what to do when you met Thai people on a plane, or on certain vehicles.
