I was going to buy a house 3 months ago. It was almost the end of escrow. I made final dicision with my wife, to cancel the escrow. I am glad I did. My problem was I am paying a lot of taxes every paycheck. Plus, a lot of advertisment said : "why pay rent?, own a house, you can deduct the tax, martgage is almost equal to rent. Youcan buy with 0% down...." Now, I am glad I did cancel. I remembered the first day my agent called me to let me know I got accepted, insted of being happy. I felt like have a heavy mountain stuck on my chest. The feeling like that had stay till the day I canceled the escrow. Now, I feel relief! I'm still renting. Here is what I have learnt. -Don't buy if you don't have 10-20% down payment. -You gotto have good cradit (700 up) -Make sure you will stay more than 5 years. -location is very important. -Don't buy a old condo. K. Ped Cad, if you don't plan to live here long, rent is the best way. find a clean and nice place to rent, and enjoy your life in America, Good Luck...
