^ ^ To answer your question, yes..PA working under physician supervision. They usually work with the doctor's group. My hospital use PA in Surgical department (Cardio-Thoracic, general) and Emergency department. They work in OR with doctor and follow up for doctor. Legally, they can't write prescription but in the hospital setting they do write it for inpatient...but I don't think they can't write outpatient script. The pay is quite good, the training pretty intense and the admission requirement is quite high...some school only offer certificate but some do offer Master degree.
When it comes to lawsuit....PA, MD, RN has equally chance to be sued because when the lawsuit comes up...everyone that involve in the care of patient usually be named ka.
Pay scale in health care vary depending on where you work (state, city, company and shift) and what kind of job you do (and your education). Usually, health care job pay pretty decent in US.
Other health care job that interesting:
- Pharmacist (Pharm.D) - Nurse Practioner (RN with MSN in nurse practioner. Work like PA, usually work with doctor's group or as hospitalist...legally write prescription, in some state they can have they own practice) - Occupational Therapist (Bachelor degree) - Physical Therapist (many state now is required Master and doctoral degree) - Repiratory Therapist (Associate degree/ bachelor degree) - Pharmacy technician (Asssociate degree) - Medical assistance (Associate degree/ Certificate) - Physical therapist Assistance (Associate degree) - Nutritionist/dietician (Bachelor degree)
That's all I can think of now ka.
