I incorporated these guidelines into speaking sentences; and practiced until I became natural.
Here are some frequently asked questions you should prepare to answer:
1. Tell me about yourself. Talk in brief about your career and how it has progressed professionally. 2. What is your greatest strength? Give your strength and give an example. I named my strength and gave the example mentioned above (situation, action and results).
3. What is your weakness? Find your weakness. Every one must have some. The point here is to demonstrate your ability to recognize your false and to overcome that weakness.
4. What do you know about our company? Research on the company from its website, annual reports, recent literatures and articles. Find companys core business, product lines, market standing, its main rivals, its recent products, etc.
5. What accomplishment has given you the most satisfaction? Give a specific example using the situation-action- results guidline.
6. How would co-workers describe you? Name your strong traits and give a specific example.
7. How would you evaluate your previous/current employer? Be positive. If you have to say something negative, be constructive.
8. Where do you see yourself five years from now? This question is to find whether you think/plan ahead. Never say I will replace you. Its not witty. Nor is it a smart answer.
9. Why should I hire you? Give your strengths listed in the What makes you unique? section.
10. Why do you want to work for us? Talk about good points of the company that excite and motivate you.
11. What is your salary expectation/history? Do not give a specific number, but give a range. For example, youd like to get $60,000/year, give a range of $60,000 - $67,000. With this, you have a room for negotiation.
