The Graduate Certificate in Hospitality Industry Studies accommodates the needs of two kinds of students. First, there are those who have earned a bachelor's degree and wish to obtain a foundation for a career in hospitality. They are interested in pursuing further graduate study without yet committing to a master's program. Others hold graduate degrees but seek education in a new career area or specialization within the industry.
For this certificate, students may take any of the five course concentrations within the Master's in Hospitality Industry Studies, or any five courses in the program with the approval of the Program Director. Courses in the graduate certificate program may be used to satisfy some course requirements for the masters. When enrolled in the graduate certificate, you may apply to the Master of Science in Hospitality Industry Studies, and the majority of students transfer into the degree program
