I'm not sure if this applies to me since I married a US "born" citizen who happens to be Thai.
I can't answer for the majority of the people in this room. Since I don't know their reason. All I can say is that I got married to my husband because I love him.
I work in the US, I sent my own money back to my parents. I bought a house here, and YES, I pay taxes to the US Government.
But everytime I go back to Thailand, I spent anywhere between 100,000 - 300,000 baht on vacation (not including the airfare).
so based on the money that I sent back and money I spent on vacation (every other year), i probably spent 200,000 baht a year in Thailand. Buying Thai stuff.
Is that enough to consider like I pay taxes to Thailand?
I love Thailand, and I will always consider myself to be Thai before being American. I truly believe that many of us who lives abroad are more Thai than the people in Thailand.
If you love democracy, you should let it be an open discussion. There're shouldn't be any attacking of other members' opinions.
It wasn't a very nice thing to say มันแทงใจดำ or ไม่ได้ทำประโยชน์อะไรกับชาติเลย .. i think that's very childish kaa.
And if I die in the US, my husband already knows that I would rather go back to "my country/my homeland" than to be buried in the US.
