I used to work both for CP and Honda Motor Co.Ltd in Thailand and Japan. Back then (about ten years ago), Honda still had strong culture in company commitment and thus had less turnover rates and life-long years of employees' tenures. Like Honda, CP needed those who work hard, have potential to be the best and brightest. However, I would say working with CP is less demanding compared to Honda as management at the mediam levels care for their family lives and so they left the work at six pm and do not demands employees to do OT or weekend work. This is based on the philosophy that employees should be fully productive in working hours. Unlike CP, Japanese managers at Honda Motor came to work late at around 11:00 am with a grumpy attitudes and work hard until 10:00 PM followed by social gathering and drinking to discuss more work or gossip about female subordinates for fun. When bosses are like that employees work less productivey but stay at work onger hours to show comittment. That is the reason I think this working cuture is uite insane and so I left becuase I do not fit that model. Just my two cents...
