I understand คุณ จขกทs frustration quite well. I understand your concerns, particularly when you have a child; the concern of your childs future well being. The frustration that stems from middle-class Americans is being squeezed. I sometimes feel the same.
However, my frustration aims to the upper class, the elites and American corporates. These wealthy have more than they ever need, yet many of them use the loop holes to avoid paying taxes. A few years ago, KPMG was penalized by the IRS for providing consultations to multi millionaires avoided paying income taxes. Another famous cases were Dennis Kozlowski, the CEO of Tyco, was charged for tax evasion on sell tax of the painting (worth millions) he acquired. The billionaire Leona Helmsly was jailed for tax evasion. Because they are rich, they can get away easily. Or if the were caught, it took the government years, lots of expenses and man power to bring them to justice.
My frustrations are towards to the money wasted projects appropriated by the Congress for example the Alaska Senators bridge to no where project. It costs over 100 millions. There are many useless money-wasted ear-marked projects similar to the given example.
Im also angry with the government to allow many corporate America get their ways. Haliburton, a defense contracts (once run by Cheney), charged the DOD a few hundred millions for services were never rendered. Or the over-sized defense budget; last week a news came out that a Republican aide was dismissed because he criticized the defense budget. According to him, the budget is larger than all the nations on this planet combined.
Or the health insurances got their way on the reform health care benefit to elders. That causes the country hundred of billions of dollars; yet the plans still have many flaws one of them is the so called donut hole affect. The winners of this are the insurance and pharmaceutical companies and the White House aide who after the reform was singed into bill, secured a lucrative job as a lobbyist for the pharmaceutical companies.
Or the recent bill on credit cards. The new bill allows all credit card companies to raise the rate universally universal rate. Once the payment on one of the cards is missed, the rate of all the cards that you have with other companies can also be raised. Despite the oppositions and warnings of foreseeable adverse impacts to consumers from many experts e.g. Prof. Elizabeth Warren of Harvard Law (an expert on credit card laws), the bill went through.
I believe channeling my energy towards the above-mentioned people/institutions will be more effective (in term of preventing country budgets into waste) than towards the people on welfare.
