USA case:
I am not sure if you are a student you are able to apply for medical insurance with matenity coverage. I heard if an international student who lives in the USA less than six months, he cannot apply for medical insurance. Also, if he intend to live in the US less than a year, it is more likely the application will be rejected.
In my case, I have been in the US for 3 years,. However, at the time I applied for medical insurance, I intend to stay about 10 months then I will go home for good. My application was rejected because I am international student who intends to stay less than a year.
I also agree with Kdorn75 on #4 that "If you want it to cover on prenatal visit, childbirth etc, you need to read the detail or ask the agent first if it cover. And they are mostly require you to pay premiums at least 4-9 months first before start getting this benefit.". You cannot use the benefit immediately after you apply for.
Think about that. Is it worth it to do so?
