I am afraid to say that you will have to pay 'OVERSEAS RATE' after all.
http://www.ccn.ac.uk/ccn3/overseas/fees.htm
British Citizens I am a British citizen but have been living out of the UK in the last three years. What are my fees?
If you have been living in the EEA your fees will be the same as other British citizens.
If you are aged 16-18 your fees will be the same as other 16-18 year old British citizens.
If you are over 18 and have been living outside of the EU on a temporary basis e.g. long holiday, temporary work, or your family is in the UK Forces, your fees will be the same as other British citizens.
If you are over 18 and have been living outside the EU on a permanent basis you will be charged the international fee rate -
Well, regardless it is worth a try if it can save some money (3:1 or 4:1,,,, Overseas:Home rate)
Best wishes.
