I just got a greencard 2 weeks ago. I am not sure what is crl and k3. I just got married with a long time boyfriend (dated for almost 7 years). If you will get married with your boyfriend, you then can file for changing status. There are quite numbers of applications that you will have to fill in..and a lot of documents that you and your future husband have to submit. USCIS will request tax return of your boyfriend too to make sure that he can be able to support you. In case of a fiance' visa...there is a time limit..you will have to get married within that time limit (6 months or 1 year i am not sure), unless you will have to leave the country or ???? I suggest you to visit the website given above ( www.uscis.gov) to learn more about this. You will want to make it right from the start, or you will be put in a black list. Need to understand that there are a lot of immigrants in USA and they try not to have too many in the country. If you just dated with the guy for just few months, it would be tough honestly....Bigger city like LA, SF, NY, Chicago will be very tough because they have a lot of immigrants there.....you may need to find a lawyer if you can afford one. I can recommend my lawyer if you are in the DC area. He is very good. Lawyer can cost from $1500 to $3000 depending on how tough the case is and what type of visa/status you want to change to... Make sure you know the guy well enough before deciding to get married though. There is no place like home..no place is better than Thailand :) Good luck
