Racists will always be racists. I mean, they are called racists for (at least) a reason, right? Some of their reactions are just verbal, some are widely shown in media, and some are plans to assassinate him. I'm pretty sure that every black in America thinks that chances are he'll get shot or killed if he runs for or becomes the President. What does that tell you? The Secret Service did one hell of a job on the Inauguration day. Let's just hope the extreme racists' ill will won't come true.
On a different note, I just wanted to add that one's blackness (if you will) is typically very much defined by white men's one drop rule. McCain doesn't need to say or call Obama "a typical black person" because he already called him "that one." That phrase spoke volume to my ears. But hey, if it was okay with Obama, it's certainly okay with me. For many years, whites wouldn't let "colored" people sit with them in the front of the bus, let alone vote. For many years, whites would only voted for whites. So, there will always be people who will vote for their own kind, be it race, gender, belief, benefit and what-nots. We just accept the fact that now Obama is the President, like we did when Bush was. In 4 years, the American people will decide again.
