Seeking for a job? Erm, it is quite difficult to find a part-time job in Chc. Normally, they need 'experiences' but you can try to ask Thai restaurants for a job. This is under the condition of your visa as well.
When I was in Chc I spent around $400 to $500 a month (not included homestay fee) because I had to pay for private class like Chinese and Korean which means $200 had gone per month haha If you stay in homestay i think you can save more because homestay in Chc is much cheaper than Syd (maybe about $180 to $250 per week) and they provide you 2-3 meals a day. Unless you eat out you, you need only $200 to $300 a month (excluded homestay fee)
Another option is sharing flat or house and cook yourself rather than eat out. This can save your money.
According to December 2007 and December last year, the price rose about $1 for a dish of meal, from $9 to $10. The transportation fee increased about 30 or 40 cents. You can apply for a metro card for free which is very convenience and cheaper fare, you just put money in metro card about $10. You need to pay $2.10 but you will be able to use within 2 hours, means if you are lazy to walk even it is just a short distance, you can catch a bus without paying a fare again. The best thing is if you use the buses everyday, you can ride a bus for free on Weekend or only on Sunday.
Well, these are some information. I hope these could help!
All the best wishes, I am a student at USYD
